What's She Afraid Of Anyway?....HRC-Ask me No Questions
Hillary Clinton's "don't ask" policy
As she races through Iowa in the days before next week's caucuses, Hillary Clinton is taking few chances. She tells crowds that it’s their turn to “pick a president,’’ but over the last two days she has not invited them to ask her any questions.

Before the brief Christmas break, the New York senator had been setting aside time after campaign speeches to hear from the audience. Now when she’s done speaking, her theme songs blare from loudspeakers, preventing any kind of public Q&A.

She was no more inviting when a television reporter approached her after a rally on Thursday and asked if she was “moved’’ by Benazir Bhutto’s assassination. Clinton turned away without answering.

Her daughter, Chelsea, had the same reaction when a reporter approached her with a question.

Hillary Clinton’s no-question policy didn’t sit well with some of the Iowans who came to see her speak.

“I was a little bit underwhelmed,’’ said Doug Rohde, 46, as he left her a rally in a fire station in Denison. “The message was very generic -- and no questions.’’

Clinton campaign officials said that she may take questions in the coming days. But her focus is on seeing as many voters as possible before the caucuses next Thursday -- and spotlighting the messages she wants to deliver.

Spokespeople for her two main rivals in the Hawkeye State -– John Edwards and Barack Obama -– said the candidates would continue fielding questions as they troll for support.

1. It's called "don't be distracted" ... I do it all day. As for how she feels
I suspect she doesn't want to think about her own vulnerabilities at these personal appearances.

2. I guess she's already been "vetted'
so why bother telling anybody what she thinks. I wonder how the GOP attack machine will feel about this?

32. Oh, look it up ... asked and already answered. Why should it bother
you that HRC stays on message? After all, she already commented in pubic that she knew PM Bhutto personally, as did Chelsea. Considering the similiarities, I can understand why she wouldn't dwell on the incident.

The GOP can't lay a finger on HRC, which delights me, but that's why I supported my candidate starting a long time ago.

33. GOP wants her to win.....
Why is it so important to do an apples-to-apples analysis?

Beyond the obvious, analyses that don't do apples-to-apples can yield misleading results.

Take the example of Fox News, for example.

This year, Fox has released 33 polling general election polling matchups, 23 featuring Hillary Clinton and 10 featuring Barack Obama.

According to Fox's polling, Hillary Clinton wins 78% of the 23 matchups with an average margin of 6%, compared to 70% for Obama with a 4.7% margin.

However, in the 20 polls that are apples-to-apples, Hillary and Obama both win the same percentage (70%) and Obama actually has a higher victory margin than Hillary (4.7% to 4.1%).

Indeed, while Hillary Clinton has a 7% average margin in the 13 Fox News general election matchups excluding both Obama and Edwards, in all other matchups (198 in all) she has just a 3.1% margin

4. As a married man
I can relate-my wife tells me what to do and when not to say it-sometimes I listen other times I regret NOT doing what she said I should and shouldn't...just like she said I would...in the words of Prince "women and girls rule my world, they rule my world"

13. You all are really pathetic. You still haven't provided a link. And who cares that Chelsea didn't
answer a question? She's not the candidate. She's simply there to support her mother. She hasn't given any speeches at these campaign stops. She's simply being a presence.

7. It was at one event the day Bhutto was killed.
This is a dupe from yesterday's 16 threads on the same topic.
One blogger's report from one event the day Bhutto was killed.
Big. fucking. Deal.

10. A glimpse of things to come?
I find it very disturbing and presaging an imperious attitude... not something we need more of after BushCorp.

27. Another example
of the Clinton camp's fear and hatred of African Americans-every single post that somebody says something negative about HRC-it's automatically assumed to be from an Obama supporter...I will call you on it every time I see it from now on

17. This must be in today's FreeRepublic/ObamaNation Talking Point email.
One guy's blog reports that hours after Bhutto was killed at one event Clinton didn't take questions as she had at events before Christmas.
She's HITLER!!!1!!!1!!

18. She is not gonna take questions, why should she?
We are just "the little people" whose opinions mean nothing. Anyone who wants to get Hillary's attention simply needs to incorporate themselves and write a really big check. I'd like to ask her about her vote in favor of cluster bombing near civilians and how that jibes with her "it takes a village" bs.

... maybe, just maybe, instead of refusing to take questions she should just plant a few shills in the audience to ask the right questions......

Eh?

also, a link or a source of some kind would be nice in the OP, but perhaps my expectations are too high. Anywho, here's a picture of HRC listening to a question from a supporter in Iowa on Friday.
