34. Read the Sibel Edmonds...
articles from her interview with the Sunday Times...looks like Mr. Kerry may have been blackmailed, which leads me to believe he didn't fight for a recount in '04 because of his connections with George H.W. Bush and his dirty deeds...

political courage to help the right candidate.

12. What political courage?
He put his finger in the wind and figured out which way the wind is blowing. Besides, he's not going to support Edwards or Clinton, and now he gets to bloviate at a live press conference and try to gain some relevance for himself.

Real political courage would have been to fight in Ohio

16. thats a really stupid thing to say
To say such a thing demonstrates your complete ignorance of how the Senate works and that there are such things as different versions of bills.

18. Don't be a jerk, please
I know full well how the Senate works, but for Kerry to not know how such a statement was going to be received while campaigning for President was disgustingly naive. I still voted for the man, but the inexperienced campaign blunders like that were tough to swallow.

21. He was not naive
he mis-spoke, an awkwardly worded statement from a very tired man. It happens to anybody, and to Kerry less than to most. In any case, it makes no sense to rehash all this at this time.

7. Yeah, Kerry has pretty much shown his true colors.
After 2004, he just hasn't had much pull with me, and most people I know who supported him feel the same way.

All those people who supported him, stood in line to vote for him, donated their time and money...none of it really mattered, because he didn't even TRY to make sure the votes were counted. And we now know there were a LOT of discrepancies.

Thanks for nothing, Kerry. Your announcement today proves to me my feelings about you are correct. You are a huge disappointment, but NEVER AGAIN.

And he was one of the very 1st to call for timetables in 2005.

15. Not good enough!
Think of the damage that has been done during Bush's second term.

Kerry's voting record, however impressive it may have been, does not excuse his not standing up for OUR RIGHTS. We voted, he didn't care.

So much for an endorsement for Edwards. Ol' John was good enough in '04 to be VP... no longer!

But people seem to take this stuff personally. Remember when Gore endorsed Dean? That was craziest I've seen DU (until this year).

29. No, it's not
Anyone who throws him under the bus needs to pull their heads out of their ass. I understand he didn't endorse who some would like to see him endorse, but he made what he thought was the best decision for us, the people of the United States.
