Poll question: Thinking the Unthinkable
For the sake of argument, say we were stuck with another Republican in the White House, which one would you be able to live with for 4 years?

Perhaps I should ask, which one would you least detest?

I'm using the "Canada" supposition. That is, which candidate would be least likely to make me want to move to Canada.

2. None. Not one. Not one you didn't post in poll.
Nope.

4 more years? We wouldn't survive.

3. OH GOD NO!
I'd rather (almost) die than live under any one of those... :puke:

But if I had to choose...maybe Giulani...maybe!

We'll all need a four year supply.

14. Good point.
Certainly not McCain. He's got enough allies and old guard Repubs on his side.

8. "Least likely to make me want to move to Canada" in the sense...
that Canada is not nearly far enough away and maybe the Patagonia region of Argentina would be a better choice?

All of them. There is no alternative here. They are all batshit crazy in one way or another.

9. I'd take Romney.
Edited on Fri Jan-18-08 01:24 PM by Heaven and Earth
The man is congenitally unable to take a principled stand on anything. Even Reid and Pelosi, milksops that they are, should be able to push him around. The polls favor Democrats on the issues, so after reading them, Romney will probably wish he had switched parties, and would act like that as president.

10. Trust me
Trust me, you don't want to move to Canada. Canada is being run by a closet religious conservative nut right now who is against Kyoto, abortion rights, etc. Canada has turned to the right.

13. Just to add, could you imagine if Dodd became majority leader, and Romney was prez?
Chris Dodd, for all intents and purposes, would be president, because he is strong where Reid, Pelosi, and Romney are weak.

17. I voted for McCain in the 2000 primary
Thinking I would be able to live with him, and KNOWING Chimp would destroy the country (but never dreaming exactly how far he would go to do so).

But that was the old McCain. The one who was willing to stand up to the Republican party. Now he's just another neo-con chimp ass kisser. He might oppose torture (because he's been there and done that) but that's about the only good thing I can say about him anymore.

We're in deep shit with any of these guys. That why we need a nominee who can beat them. And her last name isn't Clinton.

He seemed almost reasonable at the time. Not so much now.

21. I might pick McCain as least objectionable... IF I knew who his VP will be
McCain is awfully old, and not particularly healthy. I'd be surprised if he lasts a full term.
