How do I say this? Oh, yeah: STFU about John Edwards
sheesh. how would you feel if he was your candidate. It's just insensitive to gloat or start picking at him. I'm no JE supporter, but his supporters here are passionate and committed and don't need to see this today. Some of you are acting like crows picking on carrion, and he ain't dead yet.

JE has every right to stay in this race as long as he wants, and he has been an important, even vital voice in this campaign season.

His wife's health is none of your fucking business. That's between JE and Elizabeth.

You want to analyze what NV means to the Edwards campaign? Wait a day or two.

Edited on Sat Jan-19-08 06:41 PM by Lirwin2
She'll go and attack somebody, then go start a thread about how attacking this person is wrong, and you're a horrible person if you do it.

On edit: This OP is a perfect example.

5. Well, if he couldn't move the voters, particularly the union voters, with his message, it IS
problematic for him.

I don't think it's his message, it's his persona. For some odd reason. He comes across as younger than he is, and 'too regional.' That's not a slam, it's an observation.

Of course, his old running mate fucking him last week probably didn't help much. But even at that, he's just NOT cutting it.

For whatever reason--media bias, campaign staff poorly organized, diluted message, who knows?

His wife's health IS an issue, though. He put it in play with that press conference way back when.

All that said, he's just not bringing it. It may be "unfair" and it may be mean to say, but it is the truth. The 'caucusers' and the voters aren't coming around.

He's a good guy, with a good platform. Sometimes it just doesn't 'resonate.'

If he doesn't hit a home run in SC next week, he's fucked. IMO. I don't mean that unkindly, I like his message, I simply can see the writing on the wall unless he can deliver STRONG next week.

22. Well, you replied to the person you are calling a pisser. And I wasn't pissing.
I happen to LIKE JE. I like his message, I like his persona, I like his wife.

But you can like all you want, and that doesn't bring it. VOTES bring it.

But hey, whatever. You're determined to NOT BOTHER TO READ what I wrote, ASSume my perspective, and pass judgment like you're the judge, jury and executioner.

Try reading for COMPREHENSION. Maybe someday you'll learn the difference between a 'bash' and a heartfelt analysis.

Use those paper towels to wipe up that little puddle at YOUR feet, whydoncha?

27. Voters? It's a caucus ...
Some unions, it's not wise to buck the leadership. NV may not indicate how the rank/file think, just how the leadership got schmoozed by the big money.

But I don't know how the unions are in Las Vegas. Some unions, the leadership wouldn't care how a worker voted.

I've been in both types of unions. Some have leadership WAY more scary than any corporate thug.

:hi:

cauci suck.

34. Well, DUH. Who attends the caucus? Why, VOTERS do.
I don't think it was 'bucking the leadership.' In JE's case, I think it was organization. He didn't have the staff to make the inroads into the union bastions. Clinton did--she didn't give up even after she lost the CWU endorsement. She went INTO the neighborhoods, went house to house, and had organizers out and about all day today.

We certainly agree that caucuses or cauci suck, though~! And they do~!

45. Precisely. It's a disenfranchising exercise for a small minority.
I honestly think that Americans with serious disabilities, who cannot leave their homes or nursing facilities, should sue the parties that hold caucuses (or cauci--cock-eye!!) for their failure to accomodate them under the ADA. Someone who is paralyzed and on a respirator can't vote absentee, like they could in a primary.

As it is, they screw the military, on-duty firemen, policemen, health workers...all of the people we RELY on for basic quality of life. It's idiotic.

Your posts were always well-thought and rational. It seems, lately, you've been wound a little tight and in attack mode - sometimes warranted, sometimes not.

I am an Edwards supporter, but I don't hate Clinton or Barack. I do have a bone or 10 to pick with their supporters around here though. Not all of them; just the ones who act like they're on a playground, sticking their tongues out at the supporters of other candidates, and throwing rocks at them.

I thought we were better than that.
