Why did Clinton win NV?
Clinton didn't have the big culinary union endorsement.

Why did she win?

2. Because union members aren't robots.
The union brass and the union rank and file live two different lives and vote two different ways. You see the same thing in the South, where the union will endorse a more liberal candidates and the members vote for the more conservative one, usually over issues like gays and guns.

Obama tried to play Latinos for suckers.

I think people are staring to see through his bigot pandering shtick.

8. HRC learned from the Iowa caucus, and she and her campaign
Edited on Sat Jan-19-08 06:03 PM by BenDavid
staff worked harder to insure this time they would get out the vote. It paid off in Nevada. Plus, she campaigned long and hard for the latino vote and they came out and supported her. Plus this too gives HRC some advantage in the western states the dems have not done well in recent presidential elections. This now puts in play Nevada, New Mexico and Arizona. Hey she wins those three and the blue states that kerry won in 04 there you have the winner and the 44th President of the United States.

13. Young people did not turn out
If you look at the entrance poll numbers Obama has strong support from younger voters. Unfortunately for him, it looks like they didn't show up at the caucuses.

29. You know, now that I remember, there were mostly older persons like me there...
maybe an "eighth" younger vcters - but all the groups were older to even elderly...

The Hillary people were mostly older, black, hispanic...

The Obama people were mostly professionals, mixed race, younger...

but that's just my judgemental perception of them...

but I was surprised generally how much us older folk were there - many "walkers" and "canes"...

but that could be because I passed a bunch of "senior" housing complexes on the way there that seemed across the street and I really never noticed there before today...(then again - they could have been built in just the past couple months with the way things go around here!!!)
