Question: Who is the worst right wing nut job on radio??
Rush? Savage? Levin? Boortz? Beck? Bill-O? Hannity? Miller?

I can't stand any of them, but Dennis Miller and Glen Beck are some damn smug and self-important, I just want to reach through the radio and smack them.

1. A most difficult choice...
However, I believe Savage to have the highest hate index.

does anyone around here remember a guy by the name of Bob Grant? He was the worst.

3. Who is the most influential?
Someone like Rush or Hannity may not be as dumb-shit crazy as Savage, but they reach a lot of people, and give legitimacy to the RW smears and lies.

11. i heard Savage railing about ridding the face of the earth of gays, the next day i heard a red neck
murdered an 18 year old woman after leaving a lesbian meeting..after that tirade of Savages.. i don't think that was a coincidence....

4. I gotta go with Savage. Boortz is a close second.
The reason I choose Savage is because he claims that liberalism is a mental disorder. And he's so stubborn about that claim despite having been repeatedly owned in the face that he still sticks to it. He also comes off as a total prick on his show, like Rush.

The man may be crazy but at least he does see that Ron Paul supporters are nuts.

9. i remember when Bill CLinton squeaked by George the Elder in Nov 1992
And I made a point out of listening to Limbaugh after the loss.

Boy was that great. TO hear that pompous ass have to come to terms with the fact that most people were not inside the narrow demographics of his addle-brained theosophies (With him being the God king, not God)

13. Ironically...
That was a happy day for Rush.. his ratings were high during those early Clinton years.

A happier day to listen was the day after the 2006 Republican bloodbath when he gave the "Ive been carrying the water for people who didin't deserve it" speech.

Someone mentioned Dr. Laura... good call; James Dobson has to figure in there somewhere, but he isn't always political, so I can't vote him worst.

30. Thing is, Mush wasn't nearly as hateful back in the early 1990's.
He didn't really have a lot of competitors on the air then, doing the same type of show he was, so he didn't have to compete on the hate level.

I used to drive a delivery van during the middle of the afternoon with nothing but a crappy AM radio in it back in those days, so I listened to Mush out of lack of anything else being available. It was more or less a comedy show back then, even though I didn't think all of his shit was funny. Probably before the oxycontin. Those opiates can really make you irritable.

31. Also guilty
Indirectly, you bring up a great point.

I remember the start of syndicated righty radio back in the 80's. People were getting bored with topical talk, and wanted something with a little more zip. So we had Morton Downey Jr and Rush... and you're right, it was less hateful and liberals would even call in and trade barbs with Rush back then.

The problem is that Righty Radio (all talk radio, actually) is entertainment. To entertain people, you have to excite them -- right? To do this, you have to make your message a little more outrageous than the norm -- you have to push the envelope. The problem with Righty Radio is that many of the listeners lost sight of the fact that it was entertainment, and instead saw it as ideology. Meanwhile, the ideology pushed ever more rightward and became ever more strident in the name of maintaining listener interest. Think back to the 80's; Michael Savage would have been thrown off of most stations in America with his current message, but today he just blends into the crowd of right wing noise.

15. Jon Matthews.
This nut had a program here in Houston railing against everything Clinton and liberal. It's a damn shame that he got caught molesting little girls, and is now doing a three year stint in prison, where they just love child abusers.

20. Wow - a eight way tie for first place! Tough call.
They all suck big time, but Kneel Boortz is getting way over the edge.

He sounds like an 85 year old with advanced Alzheimers babbling on incoherently with a gold-digging mistress (Belinda) and producer (Royal Puddinghead) to help prop him up in his chair.

of my being.
He is a reactionary, mean-spirited, selfish pig who talks through his nose and sounds like a pseudo intellectual massive hemorrhoid. Though he claims to be a "libertarian," even the Libertarian Party disinvited him from their convention in 2004, I believe it was, because he is such an embarrassment even to them.
