at 20% and Rudy at 19%. Huckabee has slipped back to 13%. I think it's safe to say that the Huck craze is going the way of pet rocks. Romney has also made gains in the daily tracking poll done on a national level. He's only 6 points in back of JMac. I've said for a couple of months that I think it'll be Romney. Maybe that's just wishful thinking, but he's the one with the delegates and now he's the one with the lead in FL. If he wins FL and keeps rising nationally, he should be able to set himself up pretty well for Super Tuesday.

1. I don't want Mittens to have even the slightest chance of winning in November
Been there, done that, and I still feel all slimy a year after he left the State House. :scared:

10. Mixed, at best
There are still plenty of people who can't afford to buy into any of the offered insurance plans. And now they will be penalized by losing the state income tax exemption. :(

Hmm.

8. But you know he got the crossover votes in Mass. by lying. He
will not get away with his lying this time around. He tried it with his no lobbyists on baord statement and got smacked down immediately.

6. I don't know Cali....I despise Mitt Romney, and forgive me if I don't
have much faith in the American electorate, but we could very well end up with a Pres. Romney? :puke:

The only good news is that it definitely sounds like the Repukes took a good look at Rudy "911" Guiliani, and decided "NO THANKS". LOL

I still think it'll be Grandpa McCain.

7. I'd rather have McCain
for President than Mitwit. I don't like either one of them but I dislike Mitwit more. Slick, plastic, insincere and nasty to boot. :puke: He would be a disaster in the WHite House.

11. Frankly, I don't want either one of 'em either, but I guess McCain
would certainly be better than Mittens; at least McCain stands by his convictions, or at least he used to.

9. I think plastic Mitt is much easier to beat than JMac
I really don't think he stands a chance against any of our dems.

And yeah, looks like pukes have said bye bye to Rudy9/11, the Huckster and Grandpa Fred.

14. Agreed. I'm listening to Thom Hartmann, and he's citing some new
poll that has McCain beating all three of our frontrunners. The poll he cited has him beating Obama by 1, and Hillary by 4. Just weeks ago, I thought McCain was all but out of this thing, I was hoping that South Carolina would be the final nail in the coffin, but he's surging almost everywhere.

17. Fortunately, it looks like Romney is posed to beat him in FL
and Romney's close to him nationally. Go Mitt, go.

15. Good! McCain would be a lot harder to beat in November than Mittens
McCain has proven he can win independent voters which any candidate will need to win. Mittens is an empty Ken doll and it would be fun bringing him down.

20. That weasel was Gov. of a very blue state
Edited on Mon Jan-21-08 01:25 PM by HughMoran
He has a way of weaseling his way into positions of power. The MSM seems to be promoting him and he can win in places where Republicans can't win (like the NE for instance). He will win the Republican south and will nab a couple of purple states. He is a shoe-in if he's nominated IMO. mark my words. I'm bookmarking this thread.

24. bookmark it.
Romney couldn't have been re-elected in MA. There's not a single NE state he can win. It may not be fair, but he has trouble with the evangelicals because of his Mormonism. No candidate in history has as many issues that he's done a 180 on. The ads write themselves. And he has a curiously flat personality. Look, I know he was elected in MA, but he was elected as a moderate and in many ways he held onto those positions during his tenure. He's been caught on camera lying countless times. Many in his own party don't trust him. Just because he was elected in MA doesn't mean he can be elected prez.

25. I agree he's a flip-flopping weasel who should have NO chance of winning
But smarter analysts than me see him as the candidate who can pull together enough of a coalition of conservatives in the south and moderates in the purple states to win the whole ball of wax. Do NOT take this smooth-talking weasel lightly!

(already bookmarked - it may be interesting to look back so I am bookmarking many threads lately)
