I'm Finding All The Political Squabbling Rather Exhilarating
The drama, the passion, people keeping themselves informed...How long has it been since we had so many choices?

Yes there are distortions and cries of foul play but my God, this is democracy in action. We have the freedom to make a choice and speak out about it if we so choose. It is a gloriously messy affair. The other blessing is we're not republiCons having to choose from their field of misfits.

Hammer away everyone, may the best man or woman win.

1. I'm not sure about the " keeping informed" part, but I agree with the rest!

5. It makes me feel ALIVE!
You treasonous bastard, you!

It's like practice-boxing to get in shape to take on the Champ. Only you get to take off the gloves. And use knives. And steel pipes. And brass knuckles. And guns. And not get hurt for more than a few minutes.

If I was a Republican, I wouldn't be watching this and laughing. I'd be watching this and wondering how any of the Republican candidates can hope to survive the monster they have turned the Democratic Party into.

We are strong. We gnaw on our own ass for breakfast and it grows back by lunch time. By 2012, they will be lucky to hold ten seats in the House and two in the Senate.

9. Your OP and this comment are how I feel...
thanks for putting it into words.

If I had no reservations about ANY of the candidates, the squabbling would bother me much more. Since I do have concerns - and want to keep an open mind since it's still the primaries, after all - I'd rather see this shit come out now. (Granted, I'd prefer the rest of the world, especially repugs, NOT see it. Oh well...) Let's see the candidates, warts and all. Sometimes lesions don't surface until something rubs against it, agitating it.

No one likes smear campaigns - I despise that. Yet how one responds to it speaks volumes; there isn't always a right or wrong way, but it still tells the observer a lot. There is so much about this process that is unfair, but the longer we have choices, the more of an opportunity we have to make the wisest choice as they all go through this trial by fire.

As for the various camps' supporters...well, I try not to let the supporters affect my view of the candidate. When a candidate or his/her surrogates start to act and speak in a way that is similar to supporters on DU (as a whole...there are always exceptions), then I start to consider that perhaps that behavior is trickling down from the top.

There is still a lot of analyzing and researching and consideration going on, and anything can happen since we are dealing with a volatile world. And we're dealing with human beings. That's why I prefer this process not be "sewn up" or even portrayed as being a done deal so early in the game. Democracy in action indeed.

Thanks! :hi:

10. Don't Care For The Nasty Stuff Either
Though I agree with you that we should thoroughly vet our candidates. I would prefer this not be viewed by the Cons either because they are champions when it comes to dirty politics but looking at their field and after these years with a * WH, I dare them to open their mouths.
