I reject the notion that Dems should attack their opponents the way we assume the GOP will.

I reject the notion that Dems should attack their opponents the way we assume the GOP will.
The idea that our candidates should prove they won't be easily be swiftboated in the GE if we swiftboat them in the primaries, is just plain wrong. When the supporters of your candidate or mine resort to flat-out manipulation of words or records, the response is often "Well, if they can't stand up to bullying by fellow Democrats, they obviously won't be able to stand up to the big bad Republicans!" Thus condoning the bullying...cuz all's fair in war and politics, right? Even when we're all essentially on the same side, right?

Let's not kid ourselves--the GOP is watching what our candidates are doing to each other, even while we're largely ignoring them. If our candidate goes down in the GE, shot by bullets with OUR initials on them from Republican guns...all us Democrats will be demoralized and dead for least another election cycle.

1. I agree, but unfortunately many here do not. Too many see it as a zero sum game.
Idealize your own candidate, trash the others. Very depressing.

2. There is only one candidate in this race that has moved into the swiftboat column.

That is HRC. Her candidacy is severely damaging the changes for the Democrats to gain seats in the House and Senate regardless
who is nominated.

Edited to add that many of her supporters here are far more divisive than She or Bill. I am amazed at the vitriol that is being used
against Obama, a democrat. They seem to believe that he is worst than Bush. I want to think that these posters are only a small group of her supporters. I hope. I hope. I hope.

3. People aren't looking ahead...they're only thinking 5 minutes into the future
The impact of yet another Presidential loss will be BIG! That's why who we nominate has to represent something different altogether. The Clinton's are playing with the Republican playbook because they're only thinking into the Primary...they're missing the bigger picture and not looking to the impact of their actions in the General Election.

4. It's too bad that Hillary's in the lying game. She is the division in our party.

6. I don't like all this infighting.
It does us no good.

Save the ammo for the real enemy.
