Edwards rising fast in South Carolina
This confirms what Zogby has been finding.

-dnip-

A new SurveyUSA poll in South Carolina finds Sen. Barack Obama leading the Democratic presidential race with 45%, followed by Sen. Hillary Clinton at 29% and John Edwards at 22%. The margin of error is 3.8%.

In the last week, Obama's support has remained flat while Clinton is down 7 points and Edwards is up 7 points. The latest Reuters/Zogby poll also showed Edwards gaining traction in the last few days.

Key findings: Among white voters, Clinton and Edwards are effectively tied, 37% Clinton (down 13 points from last week) to 34% Edwards (up 8 points from last week). Among black voters, Obama leads 73% to 18%.

2. That is interesting
He struggles with Latinos nationally (tied with Edwards) but he is dominating among South Carolina Latinos. If his campaign can pinpoint what they are doing right in South Carolina they can turn things around with Hispanics nationally.

5. It's sad to see so many voters choosing based on race
There's no way to spin that 73% support for Obama any other way. I guess it's payback time and race is still a defining factor in America. I thought we might have been beyond that by now, although I can understand the sentiment and the history that causes such a thing. I do, however, wish Barak was a better candidate for the general election.

We just may snatch defeat from the jaws of victory once more.

8. Hillary was winning among Black voters until his win in IA and even more until
the Clintons started with the race garbage.
