Some great quotes from Ohio primary voters today...
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A22822-2004Mar2.html

<>In Cleveland, 66-year-old John Richburg said he voted for Kerry because of the senator's military background - and because he believes Kerry can defeat Bush. "Bush don't mean nothing to nobody but Bush," Richburg said. "His lies done him out. He's got to go." (Gotta love this man!)

At a bus stop near downtown Cleveland, Donna James, 42, said she voted for Kerry but hopes Edwards will be on the ticket as vice president because his working-class background will resonate with northeast Ohio voters.

"I'm a Kerry fan mostly because of his position on the war and the fact that he has a little bit more experience in Congress," James said. "I'm torn between the both of them, but heads-up Kerry could beat Bush. Kerry and Edwards would be awesome together."

<>And on whether Kerry has the "fire in his belly"...

Kerry said there should be no doubt that he has the "fire in the belly" to spend the next nine months trying to oust Bush.

"Boy, wait til you see the fire in my belly. I didn't win 18 out of 20 caucuses and primaries so far because I don't have the fire in the belly," Kerry told "The Early Show" on CBS. "And people who know me well know that fire is raging, and on behalf of the working people of America I intend to make sure that we restore fairness in our country again."

1. My sister-in-law called me this morning from the Cleveland
area to tell me she is now a registered DEM!!! She is in her 40's and has been a registered pug all of her life. She voted for John Edwards....she likes both Kerry and Edwards.

5. Hey - I've been at it a while now!
it's amazing to hear some people talk - they are registered as pugs, but their outlook is definitely DEM. Their parents were pugs - Abe Lincoln pugs.

7. LOL
My grandfather's excuse (who lives in swinging Florida, ARGH) is that HIS father hated FDR...of course his father was extraordinarily wealthy...so that makes sense.

Great quote today while phoning for Kerry, "I don't normally vote, but we've got to get rid of BUSH!"

8. Great point you bring up. Republicans can't see why we are
still talking about 2000, but they haven't gotten over FDR yet.

4. Good for her--even if she did vote for John Edwards!
Am assuming she is through with Bush. The tide is turning!

6. She and her husband are vehement against Bush
she said that they keep laying off where her husband works, so her husband has to work overtime to take up the slack - without pay. She said it is horrible out there - more and more people losing their jobs every day.
