My Florida voting experience was totally a
perfect 10 minutes!!

I walked in, and there was a table of 6 ladies(workers). 2 voters in front of me, and one lady called me over to her. She is also a board member of my community. I asked her if Joe Biden was still on the ballot, and she said she thought they took him off. So I was kind of bummed. They took my DL, looked up my name on the sheet, had me verify my address, and sign the sheet. They handed my the voting machine activation card, and I went to the machine.(touch screen) Put the card in and BAM, up pops Joe Biden!! First name on the ballot, obviously by alphabetical order. I happily....no, actually, I was giddy to be able to vote for him, checked the box next to his name, and went on to amendment 1. That's all that was on the ballot, and when I was done, I went to give the card back, and told the worker that he was still on the ballot, and that; "I was making a statement here" to which they all laughed. They then handed me my badge of honor;

I am so fricken happy that I could vote for Joe, even though it means nothing, and it's only symbolic!!

5. Yeah, it really means nothing....
but I was in this for him. But, I have decided that if Hillary is the nominee, I will vote for her. If she's not.....I guess I have another decision to make.

15. Maybe I figured it out
Your button was probably paid for by the manufacturer of the touch-screen equipment, whatever it was.

I voted absentee, so my technology was an old #2 pencil.

Still. A button. Cool.

9. Thanks asdjrocky
My neighbor voted for Edwards....the people on the other side of me are republickins....and I use to walk with the woman every night, about 4 miles....that is until she started slamming democrats. Then we just silently stopped walking together. I bet they vote for McCain. :-(

14. One of the ladies at my precinct was about 95 years old. Took her almost
7 minutes to find my name....younger woman was looking over her shoulder and looking at me at the same time to see if I was antsy. I wasn't, only three of us in the place. Poor old lady finally found me, had trouble separating the pages for me to sign in...sigh. Anyway, I surely hope she doesn't work the GE. I voted for Joe, made me feel connected somehow..

18. That 95 year old lady? I think she was around when women couldn't vote. (Pre-1920)

19. Glad you were patient with her.
My mom worked the polls in Florida after dad died. It was one job where they still accepted older folks and it got her out of the house, in public, and feeling useful.

You know the 95 yo was doing her best too.

20. Hey, I remember voting for Howard Dean ANYWAY in the California primary in '04.
Even though John Kerry had locked it up weeks earlier. I STILL voted for Howard Dean, just BECAUSE. And I'd do it again! I liked Biden a lot, as a matter of fact. He just makes so much sense when he talks foreign policy.
