Elizabeth Edwards... I Hope You are Well
I am concerned because she has not been seen on the campaign trail for over a week. Personally, I wished she had run for President and I admire her strength so very much. Would that I could be that strong. I worry because the timing is very odd, right before Super Tuesday. Today, my thoughts are with Mrs. Edwards, hoping that she is winning the fight.

2. It breaks my heart.
I am not so much interested in who anyone is running to to support as I am in knowing that she is okay. I've become freaky like that.

I really wanted Edwards to win...for my husband more than anything else. I gave up hope a long time ago.

3. Yeah that was my initial empathetic concern as well,
before I started thinking about all the corporate and media boloney.

Hope you are fairing well also and thanks for the heartfelt thread.

6. Elizabeth Edwards
Whatever the health situation may be-

I know you read DU sometimes, so I just want to tell you "Thank You" for working so hard to represent the rights and needs of so many. May you find health and happiness and contentment with your life and in your family.

At the risk of being impertinent, I would also like to encourage you to obtain medicinal marijuana by establishing a residence in CA so that you will have the BEST possible source of pain and nausea amelioration.

I'm not an old hippie nor a young turk. I found out about the truth of this when I had no health insurance and had horrific migraines, many of them, no doubt, related to unrelenting stress as a single mother.

Truth isn't easy to come by in this nation a lot of times, especially when the truth contradicts large corporate entities such as pharmaceutical companies. Do not let your position in society prevent you from access to the best possible available options for health care management.

Others here may think this is a weird post to make at this moment. However, I see it as a way to continue the fight for reasonable discussion about issues that are decided by hysteria and propaganda. You surely know what it's like to have the media ignore the truth of your message.

Thank you for giving of yourself to try to make this country a better place. Thank you for your inspiration in times of grief. Knowing that you have had to deal with the loss of a child means knowing that you understand the suffering of others, for what greater pain can there be?

With all best wishes from so many here.

18. I'm concerned for her.
I thought Edwards would stay in until Super Tuesday at least. Quitting now seems odd. He couldn't even make it through his scripted speech. I've never seen him falter like that. I also don't remember him using a scripted speech before. I really hope everything is OK.

19. I suspect something is up with Elizabeth.
Just because almost nothing was said about why JE is withdrawing today, and no questions were taken.

I also suspect so since Elizabeth hasn't been seen much since New Hampshite, and also because she seemed very much in the background today, so as to take the focus off of her.

My womanly intuition is telling me it so, but I am hoping that I am very wrong.

I am hoping and wishing the best for Elizabeth, John and family.

20. I thought the same wishing we could have voted for
Elizabeth. She is america to me. The kind of mom I want to be, the kind of person I want to be. If someone was to say to me who do you admire I would say her.

When I saw Hillary was first running after the 2004 election where we here got to know Elizabeth so well, I was wishing she was the woman running.

When I look at a woman president I want it to be someone who inspires me and brings out the best in me as a person. A woman who everyone in America knows is strong, not afraid to say her peace because its not politically correct, because some part of voting america might not believe in what she is saying.

God Bless you Liz. I wish your family the best.

I just wanted to recognize Elizabeth and wish her well. She has conducted a bold and public fight with this disease. I don't think anyone has said anything personal or offensive about her.

She is role model in so many ways to alot of us.

makes very good sense to me.
Having read some of the info in the replies above, I am just feeling that this is probably the reason.
I hope that if this is so, they can have some private and loving time together now. Love, and family, come before anything else.
