In our caucuses next Tuesday I have the option of caucusing "uncommitted"
and voting that way in the straw poll. The DFL will be allocating delegates to the national convention bases on that straw poll and it is possible that the state could send delegates who are bound to vote that way on the first ballot at the national.

If you have this option, think about taking it - I don't think it would hurt to let the remaining two know that there are plenty of us who aren't overly impressed with either one of them.

Flame me if you must.

1. I will be doing the same thing
Right now, "Uncommitted" is much more appealing than anybody in the race right now.

2. I'll still be voting for Edwards at my caucus. I'll probably get flamed, just like at DU for it.
But, my sentiments are totally with you.

It's time to say BASTA! to Dem politics as usual!

:hi:

5. In the past, and I imagine the rule is the same this year,
we can only caucus for candidates still in the race or go uncommitted. If I could, I would still go with Edwards.

4. I have that option, too
I'm a Kucinich supporter and received a request from our state campaign to vote Uncommitted. I feel comfortable with that.

6. OK< that's what I wanted to know. Will do the same (Edwards, though)
Plus, I'm taking a Resolution.

Would you want to see it, and consider taking it to yours?

8. This is why our candidate told us to take our time and keep our powder dry
Uncommitted leaves a door open for who knows what to come!

10. Sure, send it to me
Now, about being uncommitted - Can we gear our uncommitted decision to a certain candidate here in CO? I was confused about that. If you want, you can send the info in a PM. I couldn't go to the training but I'm not letting anything get in the way of the caucus.

Thanks, b!

11. Check your inbox, and thank you.
Didn't go to Caucus training either... really sick with the flu then.

But, I've been to so many cauci :) that I don't really miss the training. I'm sure they'll explain about Uncommitted.

BTW, did you hear any more, speaking of U, what happened to all the CO Dems who got changed to U?

I called about mine, and it wasn't changed...

fingies crossed....

14. Thanks and check your PM
I didn't hear about anyone being changed to U.

I was hoping we could sign in and not declare at all until we got inside and talked to people. But whatever, I'm ok with it. I'll declare as U at the door if necessary.

Our lovely RW SOS changed the dEms to Us..... damn his hide!

It was in all the papers.

You'll do fine... really.... they make it pretty easy. They want people to return. :hi:

9. I've been considering doing the same thing.

Whichever makes the most sense strategically. I really don't want Hillary to win, but even if I were to support Obama eventually I want to be sure he pays attention to the issues Edwards emphasized. Probably the best way to do that would be to vote uncommitted at the caucus. I assume there would be a certain number of uncommitted delegates who would have to be "wooed" at the district and later the state convention.

On the other hand, even if there are a number of uncommitted delegates, if one candidate gets more committed delegates than the other they'd count it as a "win," which would add to their momentum. I really don't want to see Hillary claim Minnesota.

Decisions, decisions... Of course, ultimately what counts is convention delegates...

12. I'd appreciate the vote for Edwards, if you don't mind...
As a poor person, this is the first time in so very long that I've had someone in my corner.

I'd appreciate all the support for him that can be mustered.

13. I don't think we can at our caucuses.
As I understand it, our only choices are for current candidates or uncommitted. If Edwards turns out to be a possibility, I'll do it. Otherwise, the way the MN system works, voting uncommitted has almost the same effect: it makes the other candidates compete for delegate votes by adopting their issues.

I am really bummed about Edwards dropping out. Went to a rally here the night before he dropped, there was tremendous enthusiasm, and then I wake up the next morning and he's out. :(

I'm going to stop supporting any candidate. I'm the kiss of death, my candidates never win.

18. Voting uncommitted is great, and that's what I intend to do.
I'm with ya on being bummed.

I fully understand your sense of fatalism. I've been at this a very long time, and it's not getting any better.

I just can't vote for more corporatists.... more "centrism".. what a laugh.

"Hope, hell, I need a FIGHTER!"
