my current dream team if Obama Wins
if Obama wins the nomination and the presidency

(keep in mind we are in desperate shape as nation, even if the media or the general public both refuse to admit it.)

Sec of Defense: Wesley Clark

i know having a S o D with a military back ground breaks with tradition but given the current state of things i think it is necessary

Attorney General: John Edwards, this would real be a boon to us all in more ways than can be easily counted

special envoy to the middle east: Bill Clinton.

keeps him busy and out of trouble, plus uses his skill set,
also this will inspire unity and peace in the party,

special Envoy to the far east: Bill Richardson,

even Bush asked this guy for help with Korea,

secretary of state: Joe Biden,
he is a bit hawkish but the military will respond to him in conjunction with Wes,
and any lack of charisma, diplomatic appeal, etc., will be made up for by the special Envoys
he can work close with the Bills and Wes to fix our military and this Iraq thing

plus maybe he will stop running for president,
Delaware trends blue and so should be an easy hold

sec of Housing and Urban Development: Teddy Kennedy,
this gives him an honorable way to retire and his seat in Massachusetts should be an easy hold, plus he has been at this stuff forever and a cabinet post will keep him close for advice on any conceivable matter,

secretary of the treasury: Mike Bloomberg,
lots of birds, one well aimed stone, the man is basically a democrat and his knowledge of wall street is hard to dismiss (also a symbolic republican pick to help national unity, etc.)

A special title such as environmental Czar or whatever to Al Gore, a powerful symbol at minimum and real force for change with some support.

AND NOW

DRUM ROLL PLEASE.......

FOR VP.....

HILLARY CLINTON.

keep your friends close but... you know the rest
;)

(i am half kidding, half serious with this last one, but now that i think about it........)

1. Comment

Sec Def : Wes Clark - could work, how about the length of time since active service (there is a regulation about this)

Sec State : Biden - good choice, but would he retire from the Senate after so many years?

HUD - Ted Kennedy - no way he leaves his seniority in the Senate for a 1 term job as HUD sec.

Sec Treas - Bloomberg - OK, maybe.

ME envoy - Bill - no, that won't happen.

Asia envoy - Richardson - maybe, or maybe UN ambassador.

Environmental czar - Gore - no, that won't happen. His reach is now global in nature (HAH!, it's a pun)

VP - Hillary - could happen, but I hope not. She might take it if offered, but I think it's highly unlikely to be offered.

2. the offer to Ted would be predicated on the possiblity that he is ready to retire, but if he

is not
then you are definitely correct,

on the other hand Biden is big policy guy, so he might (i mean might) go for it.

The Senate is hard to leave

you are right about Al, something more like having a summit on global warming or something
is a better idea,

with Al at the head of the table,

this could be a one time deal
and be both symbolic and substantive,
it would
build Obama's street cred on the environment,

and show him resisting the call of corporate $$$$$$

while building bridges, opening channels, and generating real ideas.

the Hillary thing is one of those late night ideas
that could be

meat or cake

but is most likely meat-cake,

ditto for Bill

but the man does need something important to do.....

milling about is getting him into trouble

suggestions?

(UN, something???)

BTW
i am deadly serious with Richardson, Bloomberg, Clark, and Biden (if he will bite on it)

3. think of Hillery as a liberal Dick Chaney......

what ever her 'experience', she is not someone you take lightly

as a 'hit man(woman)' for the president i can't think of anyone more intimidating

if she is the VP then Bill be hanging around,

with nothing to do....

BE PROACTIVE

Assign him a task rather than wait for the trouble to start.....
the guy can't help it (see Vash the stampede) and much of the time
it's not actually his fault, (though sometimes it most certainly is)

seriously i think i am talking myself into this....

if egos could be regulated here

this group of individuals poss a tremendous array of skills and talents
intellectually
emotionally
and
politically
.
politics is frequently a dark art
and these people are skilled at its use,
both good and ill,

I just think it would be nice if they teamed up to use it for good

they are definitely a group of talented and dangerous people,

working together, maybe they can save the republic.

i think its worth a shot,
