Naive
Obama: "The notion that somehow the Clintons have coddled me and the Republicans are these big, bad folks who have different operation than the Clintons do, I think is just not the case," he said.

So the Clinton's equal the right-wing attack machine? This statement points to extreme naivete. Does this man have NO memory of the fairly recent past?

1. He does not fear it
He understands it, he is wary of it, but he does not fear it. Nor Chavez. Nor Iran.

2. No. That the Republicans will be tougher than the Clintons is the perception
That the Clintons haven't tested Obama, and the Republicans will have him for lunch is the perception he says is not true.

He's been tested plenty by the Clintons.

3. Honestly, I think people are just tired of the RW attack machine and won't buy it...
besides every machine needs some lubrication and the Clenis provided that...

I just don't think Obama gives them as much salacious juice to run on. He's kind of a straight arrow by comparison to Bill.

5. Maybe the Republicans have run out of steam
Karl Rove is out to pasture isn't he? If the same devious bunch is not operating this campaign, perhaps Obama will have it easier.

10. You give that idiot too much credit
He doesn't have the good campaigner George Bush running. He has a 72 yr old dull and boring McCain running.

I would worry if they had a better candidate

7. So the Clinton's equal the right-wing attack machine?
No, the Clintons beat the Republican attack machine TWICE.

And Obama beats THEM.

You do the math....

9. How about not make a ridiculously false comparison
Look at Whitewater for example, just one of MANY. Years of investigations and millions of dollars for nothing. Look at the swift-boating of Kerry. Can you seriously compare that to the Clintons?
