1. Wow. That's a helluva lot from those few little numbers. Good to know, though.

3. It doesn't seem to matter
what she does, those unfavorable numbers don't change much. I've never understood the intense dislike so many people seem to have for her. But there it is.

5. i don't like all the hill-hatred out there.
it's bullshit. i'd still prefer obama, but hillary doesn't deserve such high unfavorable ratings.

7. The one thing that I don't like about these is that they aren't reporting depth
I know (R)s at work that "dislike" Obama (hes a socialist, don't ya know) but they DESPISE Hillary.

I believe that once the campaign here kicks off and they have a chance to hear him, they will soften to him and his presentation of a progressive message (something I have been unable to do).

She doesn't have a chance with them.

9. it's not only that but,
with the strong dislike of mccain, alot of them would stay home in november if he was running against obama. but if it was mccain vs hillary, you sure as fuck know they'll turn out.

12. Exactly.
My mother once told me that she would stay home if Guiliani got the nod but form a carpool service if he was up against Hillary.

That was back in the summer. She now says the same thing about McCain.

10. why can't you admit that he's likeable.
you just want to diminish the fact that people like him. despite race, sex or age.

11. About the attribution of all the Hil-hatred to her media attackers:
Remember the following:

(a) First of all, there is no reason to assume that generically ANYONE, including Obama, will experience the same negatives as soon as they go against the Repuke/media feeding frenzy machine. There is SOME truth to that, but I would not suggest it as an inevitability -- this 'inevitable high negative' meme is a conceptual ruse to dismiss the significance of HRC's high negatives in a presidential election.

(b) Hillary Clinton and her president husband have, for ALL the period of time in which they suffered the savage attacks of the Rush Limbaughs and the "vast right wing conspiracy", had ENORMOUS media access and opportunity to go toe to toe with their detractors, and for whatever reasons, Hillary has never, given IMMENSE exposure and access to media, been able to significantly reverse this development. Again, under these conditions, viewing her as only a 'target/victim' seems agenda-conveniently misplaced.

(c) The notion that in all these things -- from the supposedly meaningless Whitewater to 'travelgate' and the disappearance of files to the handling of the enormous opportunity she genuinely had to present a health care idea that could at least rally progressives even if not being enacted right away -- are by implication matters in which she is faultless is a canard, any way you slice it, in its own right.

Truth is, Obama is more popular and clearly more electable as president. All the 'trying to shove a square peg in the round hole of history' (something progressives are often herded to do when they shouldn't, yet successfully intimidated from possibly stepping forward when they should) isn't going to change the above-mentioned reality parameters.

Underlying all these memes is something agenda-driven that goes WAY beyond HRC or her candidacy.

16. Well said.
Also, I think it's pretty apparent that Hillary was the media-anointed favorite going into the primaries, and that the press had its claws out for the unfortunate Edwards, whom they cast as a phony from the get-go. The attacks on Hillary have mostly been coming from the progressive wing of the party, who see her as a center-right DLC opportunist masquerading as a progressive. Hillary is disliked within her own party not because of the media, but because she's been a disappointment as a senator: given the chance to lead on key progressive issues, she has repeatedly declined to do so.

17. What matters is unfavorables in November, not February.
The Republican/corporate media attack machine is laying low.

And I don't think the Democrats have sufficiently vetted Obama.

As I've said before, I don't feel I know Obama, and I don't know the policy differences between Clinton and Obama.
