Obama Fact => He has not won yet!!
It has been good to see substantive pro-Obama threads and thoughtful examinations of Hillary's record starting to outnumber the flames here recently. Good to see the flames of sexism and racism die down on DU, as people post some of the "meat" that many of us have known all along about Obama's record of accomplishment.

Obama supporters - don't get cocky after last night though - TEXAS is now the key to the whole race. If Obama can pull off an upset there -- or even make it close -- it will mean the nomination. Worse - if Hillary wins it will be played up as a "huge comeback" and will appear to make the race "Even Steven".

BE PARANOID AND HELP THE OBAMA CAMPAIGN NOW!

Good news - Texas is an open primary.
Bad news - Clinton "brand" still incredibly strong.

I speak spanish and have been calling Latinos in Texas for the Obama campaign for past 4 nights!
even if you don't speak spanish - Calling people in Texas is one of THE BEST things you can do. Studies have shown that 1-1 personal contact means FAR MORE than television advertising. If you talk to people - they will talk to others - they may even volunteer themselves. It is a powerful multiplier.

The calling is actually alot of fun too - more so than you would think. You get a mix of responses, but alot of positive people who really want to hear what you have to say -- and think about it.

I know I know I know... but what about DU? Yes - posting and responding on DU threads IS addictive - flames and counterflames are just so titillating! - but FIGHT THE URGE TONIGHT AND MAKE CALLS! You'll have plenty of chances to increase your "post count" on DU AFTER MARCH 4th. Heck look at my low post count and I'm calling ;) Besides - many of you are already 1000+ - so you can afford a rest from your well-worn keyboards!

PLEASE go over to the website, and see what you can do TONIGHT. Get Involved today!

Time is very short - and we are still far behind in TEXAS! (no you don't have to be able to fake an accent to call - just do it!)

3. It's threads like this one that make me think Obama may
have a chance to win the general if he gets the nomination.

Hard work is what it will take to beat the Repubs. Believe me, they will pull every dirty trick in the book to keep power.

4. I'm 38 - i have some energy left
but it is amazing to see the number of people DOING SOMETHING political - or semi-activist - for the first time in their lives.

it's encouraging to see. I think ever since New Hampshire - the Obama workers don't take any vote for granted.

7. I definitely don't count him out
But i'm from NM - a primary state with a good number of Latinos. We are still counting from Super Tuesday (which is in itself incredibly embarrassing, but wtf). I saw up close and personal how in a State like this - the Clinton Machinery can deliver votes reliably from working class Dems who don't watch the news much, and don't even know what a "Political Blog" is.

These are awesome hard working people. I don't criticize them at all. But they vote who they feel comfortable with. The name means alot - and they have local Dem officials - who the Clintons "locked up" very early (long before Iowa) - telling them that the Clintons will "do for them". It's powerful - and it matters.

I just want Obama supporters to WORK TONIGHT - and EVERY NIGHT TILL MARCH 4th

because i really do think he has a chance to make it "too close to call" (like we did here in NM - where i handed out over 1,000 Obama sticker at the University in 3 days).

BUT IT MEANS WORK! Not just reading on DU. That is my only point. :)

12. Excellent ~
:bounce:

As a precinct captain for OBAMA,I found 2 wonderful helpers on my List.

The 3 of us made 480 phone calls.

It was a wonderful experience.

Keep those calls going in Texas.

13. I'm from Texas, but I think Ohio is more important
Carville says Clinton has to win both to stay in. I wish! I think Obama has to win both to put her down. Otherwise this goes all the way to Pennsylvania, maybe the convention--where Florida turns out to be Clinton's firewall.

14. one registered complaint usually means 20+ think so as well.
but don't bother with making it formal, in advertising.

same goes.
word of mouth is the best advertising.
