Dean says Kerry should NOT reveal leaders' names....good statement.
http://tinyurl.com/3erb3
SNIP.."Although Kerry has said he won't break confidences and reveal which overseas leaders have told him they back his campaign, Bush told reporters, "If you're going to make an accusation in the course of a presidential campaign, you ought to back it up with facts."

For the second day in a row, Vice President Dick Cheney criticized Kerry at a Republican fund-raiser. "We are the ones who get to determine the outcome of this election, not unnamed foreign leaders," Cheney told donors at a benefit for Rep. Bob Beauprez, R-Colo.

Howard Dean, Kerry's former rival, said he agreed with Kerry's decision not to name the leaders and that it was "silly" for the Bush administration to suggest he reveal them, "given the proclivity of this administration to threaten those both home and abroad who are candid."

"If I were Senator Kerry I wouldn't name those names because this administration would clearly make their lives difficult," said Dean, a former governor of Vermont....."

3. Yeah, Dean!
He has such a wonderful way to cut through the crap and tell it like it is!

16. And he loves the word "silly".
You are right about that ability to just cut through all the fluff and just say it. It is a gift, and he seems to be doing a lot of it.

And he is probably right. If he isn't it is good to say it to keep Bush on his toes.

8. Naming names
Besides, Bush knows their names, or at least he should since he is supposed to be communicating with the leaders of the world.

Those of us who read newspapers and surf on the internet can probably guess pretty accurately who some of them might be: Chavez of Venezuela, Chirac of France and Schroeder of Germany immediately come to mind.

Excellent rebuttal! The Bush administration has proven had ruthless and unethical they truly are--witness the despicable Valerie Plame affair.

18. Keep what a secret? Can you say Valerie Plame???
Thought you could ;)

There is a good reason for Mr. Kerry to with hold the names of his supporters abroad.

Oh and ... Welcome!! :hi:

19. It says much about his character and loyalty to those he works with..
but claiming that you have the support of "unnamed" foreign leaders is also the fastest way to lose a Presidential Election.

But I think Kerry is learning from this mistake. Most importantly it's good to see Dean stand-up for him.

Hate to say it guys, but Dubya has a point. This is a national presidential election, not high school student gov't. If you're going to throw "facts" out in the air, you should have some proof. Bush says he had sources that there were weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, but because he hasn't proven aything to us we don't believe him? So WHY should we believe Kerry? I'm sure many of you are familiar with law, it's like if I were accused of murder and I said I had a witness to prove my innocence, but when asked to reveal my witness I said "I don't want to reveal their identity because that would break their confidence, but trust me I didn't do it." Nobody will take you seriously.

I'll be honest, I really don't like John Kerry, I think he is from the same mold as Bush. I really would have liked to see Clark or Edwards in this election rather than Kerry.

22. So idiots like Rush can paint him as a Frenchie?
even if he released the names...he would lose votes not gain them!

But by being trustworthy we may have some international allies again, if Kerry wins.

23. So here we have the most secretive administration...
this nation has ever known, and they are demanding that sources be released?

I say to Kerry, you are doing a fine job, don't let them wear you down. Put it to them like this: "Release the Reagan papers. Release bush's TX records as Gov and his previous driving record. Release the FULL transcripts of what happened in the TANG. Release the name(s) of those that threatened national security in the Plame situation. Release the necessary documentation to get the 9-11 investigation finished."

This is simply the worst, and most hypocritical administration this nation has ever known. bush wants to have an empire. cheney is not Vice President, he is Co-president. How did this happen?
