2. Got one right here!
Right side bumper sticker reads:

"Somewhere in Texas there's a village is missing an Idiot"

Driver Side bumper sticker reads:

"John Kerry President"

I love driving around in West St. Louis County (VERY Republican $$)
Letting as many see my ads as possible.

Yes! It is true! Not ALL of us think the chimp is the 2nd coming!
Gotta get the word out as much as we can!

4. The Only Way You'll See One Of Those On MY Car Is...
If Kerry picks Edwards or Dean as his running mate.

THEN, I'll out the sticker on right next to the one that reads "Partenership for an Idiot-Free America!"

As you may have guessed, I am not too thrilled about Kerry being the nominee.

I was a backer of Edwards, and then Dean, and then Edwards again.

I don't like Kerry. But I'll vote for him this time out, only because I hate Dubya that much.

But Kerry better shape up, real fast, with regards to his positions on transgender inclusion in ENDA, and gay marriage, or he can forget my vote in '08. I'll go third party first!

And since I am in a solidly Red state, it probably won't matter much, anyway.

8. not yet
but a meetup is suppose to happen next week in my area -- hopefully it will be in Wilkes-Barre and not Scranton. If so, and if bumperstickers etc are available - I will be picking up a few

as the meet-up is on a weekday at 7pm, and scranton is an hour away (which means 2-hr round trip for me) it makes for too late of a weeknight for me to attend. Wilkes-Barre is 15-20 minutes away, much closer drive for a week night

my work hours start at 6:00am, so I've usually crashed for the night by 8:30pm

10. Why
Edited on Wed Mar-17-04 06:14 AM by DaveSZ
Did most liberals on DU not support Kerry at first?

Personally I supported Edwards because I knew that with a Southerner we'd at least have an even playing field in the Electoral College, and the last two Presidents we've elected have been from the South.

Plus Edwards is the best speaker I've ever seen. If Kerry picks Edwards, I think that would help shore up the leftie vote right (since Nader endorsed Edwards on Meet the Press)?

I'm still dumbstruck that the voters ignored history and voted for a guy from Massachusetts, but I hope he proves me wrong.

Actually I supported Clark at first, because I knew that national security would be a huge issue in the campaign as well (especially now with the Madrid bombings). Clark turned out to not be a very good campaigner though.

Kerry will get my support though.

I live 50 miles from NYC. Not exactly a backwater. The only bumper stickers for 2004 that I've seen is in the parking lots where meet-ups are occurring. I'm sure there are some near the universities, but at the supermarket, on the roads I'm on between work, errands and home...nada.

No Bush/Cheney ones, either, though! :-) I live in the southern area of Ohio which is pretty conservative... I saw a Dean yard sign, and it was still up the last time I drove past. That's it. Edwards won this district, and it will be interesting to see if those voters go Kerry or Bush. I do know a few Republicans who have NEVER voted for a Democrat in their in their lives, supported Edwards, and now Kerry - I'm encouraging them to go to the site and pick up some bumper stickers. I do remember seeing Gore stickers last election, and not Bush ones, though I think Bush won this district(?). I have a little red, white, and blue peace sign on my back windshield. I'm thinking of replacing it with a Kerry sticker. Stickers, flyers, phone calls - anything I can do to try to win Ohio back from Bush I will do.

But just as many for Bush/Cheney. I even saw a Kerry/Edwards sticker, though that is presumptuous.

Does Kerry have to wait until the convention to name a running mate? I mean it's not fair that Bush gets all this time to have his ticket settled and we have to wait until the convention. Kerry is already the alleged candidate, so why can't he proceed without the convention.

61. Unfortunately, not yet
I've seen a "Draft Clark" and two Edwards stickers, along with at least three "Bush Cheney '04"'s (possibly more, but I think they were the same car(s)) over the last few months in my "Dixiecrat" part of the world.

Stickers are interesting indicators, though. I figured * sentiment was pretty strong in my area in 2000 after seeing all the stickers for him (about 9 for every 1 Gore-Lieberman I saw), but he only carried the county with a not too outrageous, but still nauseatingly high 60-percent. I still have faith in my home, though, as I don't think he'll do nearly as well this time around. My county has only voted for Republican Presidents twice since Reconstruction (Nixon in '72 and * in 2000) and I'm hoping they'll come back to their senses. Not crossing my fingers, though...

63. This is kinda off-topic,
but my mom was telling me about the Laci Peterson jury selection - that one of the questions they asked was "Do you have a bumper sticker on your car?" The reason why is because liberals are more likely to sport bumper stickers. I thought that was odd - not sure if it's accurate, but maybe that's why people have seen so many Kucinich stickers. And, unfortunately, maybe that's the reason why we're not seeing many Bush/Cheney ones.

80. Could be....
I could see that being the case-- most of the conservatives I know wouldn't want to "mess up" their expensive cars with something as tacky as a bumper sticker, no matter who it's for.

And, seeing as most liberals typically don't make as much money as conservatives, they're probably driving cheaper cars and don't really give a damn what they look like (like me, for example).

So far, in my town of Minneapolis/St. Paul since last summer, I've seen a number of Dean, a number of Kucinich, but no Kerry stickers at all. We still see a fair number of old Wellstone stickers around too from the 2002 race. There's even a couple of Wellstone lawnsigns with black armbands on them in my neighborhood, too.

68. Dean, Clark and Kucinich. No Kerry yet
but I'm sure they'll be springing up real soon.

72. Guy in D.C. had a Kerry campaign sticker on his pickup truck.
That's one I saw this morning.

I've had a lonely time of it for months. I wore my Kerry button beginning in January but gave it to the lady who cuts my hair after she expressed interest in the button.

The only other Kerry campaign stuff on display was worn by a lady on the Metro at the Silver Spring, MD, station.

I've seen more Dean and Kucinich stuff, believe it or not. However, it is early.

74. I haven't seen any in the Houston area yet, but I hope to get one soon
I just ordered several political bumper stickers from this site: http://www.evolvefish.com/fish/LJstickers.html

(not Kerry ones, but anti-Bush and pro-Dem ones) I hope to get a Kerry one next week, and then put them all on my bumper, and hav fun pulling in front of every pug I see on my daily 2.5 hrs on the road!

77. Not a one
Our Democratic Party Office has been asking for position papers, lawn signs and/or bumper stickers since August and so far, nothing. And I have yet to see a Kerry bumper sticker. Lots of Dean and Kucinich, though.

78. I have a couple of extras
if people want them. If you want to contact me, let me know. A SASE would be all I request in return. I have total of 4 extra. They're the standard "John Kerry, President" ones, with the website listed underneath.

If more than 4 people contact me, it will have to be on a first come basis.

I haven't put mine on my van yet because I've been too lazy to do it with the snow still coming down. I have a couple more I bought through www.evolvefish.com as well, including the Darwin sticker, which got ruined during the winter. They've got a wide variety there, and some really good ones. :)
