Calling all Obama supporters! Here's the message he wants you to put out ...
OK so we all know that Barack is clearly the frontrunner now, but that don't mean he can afford to sit back and refrain from launching negative attacks against the other candidate who for some reason is refusing to quit.

Obama is depending on you to help put out this message about Hillary's health care plan:

Obama supporters: please make sure you use this image at the bottom of every post you make here on DU!

This is the best way you can force Hillary's supporters to face the fact that her mandate sucks!

It's a great way to annoy the Edwards/Clinton crowd who are, like obsessed with covering everyone.

You can just right click on the image and then look at the properties to find the link.

Remember: Barack Obama is counting on you! Don't let him down!

:sarcasm:

2. Yeah, like you're going to change any of our minds
Healthcare is the one issue she kicks his butt on! His plan sucks and will never bring forth healthcare reform. I have yet to see Obama do anything constructive other than talk. Where's the beef? There isn't any. The whole premise of an Obama candidacy is hope......hope that he'll actually do something. He doesn't have that "magic wand" and I'm afraid he will be just another figurehead that gets nothing done while we grow further and further in debt.

5. Hillary is a water girl for the Insurance Industry. This is well known.
And yes, the flyer is accurate.

She wants to make people who can't afford heat in the winter to pay her corporate masters.

7. "Hillary is a water girl" is a demeaning description.
What would you say if someone wrote "Barack is a water boy for the coal industry"?

On the issue: Obama's campaign has been using the slogan "Health Care For All".

My point is, it's not "Health Care For All" if some folks remain outside the system.

OBAMA 2008. CHANGE YOU CAN BELIEVE IN. FLYERS YOU CAN FEEL PRIDE IN.

8. No, it's not. It's an accurate term used to describe legislators who carry water for evil interests
Edited on Mon Feb-25-08 08:45 AM by TexasObserver
If you are unaware of the term, get yourself educated.

And let's not forget that Hillary has said "I'm your girl" to the public since she entered the race.

Find a new word to be pissy about.

10. No one remains outside the system.
People can choose to not purchase insurance, but everyone has the same opportunity to buy in.

I have no problem with that flier. Hillary wants to "go after peoples wages" to make her corporate masters rich.

And those same people will be even less likely to afford the bills (marked up 200% for those without insurance) from the hospital after they get sick.

13. Well...
Whatever your opinions about non-mandated versus mandated health insurance, it's a low blow to use these harry & sally images used by the GOP in 1990s. I though Obama was apparently above such behavior? That's what he keeps telling everyone right?

And how is it a bad thing that everyone in the country has some form of health insurance? A voluntary system is useless and presents no "change" which is the buzz word hey. How "hopeful" to not want to aspire to a higher ideal? I think it is indeed relying on "hope" to think that people will vountarily insure themselves. They don't now.

People with no insurance have 3 options:

1. not receive treatment

2. pay for it out of pocket and risk bankruptcy

3. rely on public/free residual health care services that your tax dollars pay for

So then, tell me, how is a non-mandated system going to help anyone?

All this fear mongering that people won't be able to afford insurance is b/s. The contrubition will be capped at a certain percentage based on income.

26. I'm pretty much convinced that insurance is a ....
scam anyway. Or Ponzi scheme dressed up in "legality". There is so much hospital-fraud already going on with overbillings. Last time I checked my hospital bill they were trying to pass off billings for medicine that I didn't take onto my insurance company to apparently make up for losses that they can't otherwise "explain".

I don't see how MORE trust in the insurance industry is the answer, folks.

14. I'm sorry but I disagree with that. I don't think that is what DU or GD-P wants people
to do is for a poster to irritate others. It's grounds for a tombstone stating you want to annoy Edwards and Clinton supporters. I'm serious, if you do this kind of stuff the moderators will look closely at this practice.

For the record, I like Hillary's plan better then Obama's. Being in the trenches for the past 20 years I have seen how well choosing to get healthcare works and it doesn't. I prefer Hillary's plan because everyone will have healthcare. From a Fiscal point, you have to look ahead 2 years to see how these plans work. When hospitals make financial plans they look at it fiscally ahead a year or so and see how cost effective it will be and the profit margin it will bring. Just from experience, a large portion of people will opt out of Obama's plan, that's just a fact. These folks, when they get sick, will pass there costs to the insured. I know Obama states people can't afford Hillary's plan but he knows he is leaving out the big picture of her plan, that her plan is based on income. People with no income gets there care free, and it's prorated depending on your income. But it caps at a certain point so that it doesn't make it unfair for people in the higher income bracket. Now, I'm not trying to convince anyone to change there vote because of the candidates healthcare plan. If Obama is the nominee and becomes president I know he will work with Hillary on healthcare and he is wiling to change things. I remember in one of the debates, healthcare came up and he said something like "but we can work on it", which gave me the impression his plan can be changed to best fit the needs of all americans.

These candidates issues are just there platform and it's not written in stone. This is the basic ideas they want to work on but a lot of these issues will be worked on in more depth before it ever goes to congress. So, everything these candidates are saying aren't specific but just a basic plan.

16. But the OP is so obviously intended as a piece of satire
We don't have a satire smilie so I used the sarcasm one at the end of the OP (for anyone who didn't understand).

My point is that even Obama supporters should be ashamed of the flyer his campaign has put out.

If they are not ashamed of it - I am challenging them to be proud of it! B-)

21. Obama is not the most pro-choice candidate.
This is the conclusion we can draw from looking at his record in the Illinois State Senate.

Maybe he had his reasons for voting present on a regular basis. But his votes are on the record.

25. This whole thing is going to fare BADLY for Dems later
I doubt I'm alone in thinking that this wedge in the Democratic party is going to seriously hurt us in November. Regardless of whose "Team" you're on, when the Nomination is finally made, the other candidate's voters are going to be so bitter that we may lose their votes to Nader in the long run. All this crap just rolls out the red carpet for McCain for the next 4 years.

28. Let me explain the difference
Edited on Mon Feb-25-08 11:27 AM by Apollo11
The flyer you can see in the OP was produced and distributed by the Obama campaign.

The photo of Obama in Africa was published in a recent issue of The National Examiner.

http://rawstory.com/news/2008/Obama_campaign_blasts_Clinton_over_photo_0225.html

There is NO evidence that Hillary's campaign is responsible for circulating this image:

Now dismiss that report. I don't care. An ignorant supporter will hear what he/she wants to hear and nothing else. I have a little insight into campaign strategy and management. Even beyond the reports, it's easy to read between the signs. Good day.
