The value of endorsements
I was debating this with some Clark supporters in NH this weekend. We were discussing the value of endorsements. I felt there were three types of endorsements.

The all reaching, ground shaking ones. Something like Gore. This type will usually attract major media, supporters, and attention.

The local endorsement. This is usually local elected officials up to the state/congress level. These people make your life easier locally. They know people that know people and can make things happen for you locally. They can throw organization in your direction.

The nice to have endorsement. This is newspapers and very local officials. People with little organization. These are good for word of mouth and maybe some good will. Not much more but they are still nice to have.

What do you all think?

1. That sounds about right.
It's all about buzz and organization. Very few people vote for someone because someone else told them to.

2. There are 2 more endorsements up for grabs that matter:
Clinton & Jackson

3. Make that 3.
Hillary Clinton and the Big Dog. I think only one might endorse (Hillary). And Jackson

5. Any Clinton endorsement would be truly formidable!
You can take that to the bank.

6. Yes, that would certainly shake things up,
wouldn't it?

7. Some people think it will happen, while others maintain
that Big Dog is working very discreetly and quietly behind the scenes to get Wes elected.

But this "January Surprise" theory being passed around DU makes one wonder.

4. I also think that for the vast majority of voters
endorsements don't mean squat. Maybe the one the local newspaper gives matters, but I don't think celebrity or political endorsements mean anything to most people.

8. A Clinton one would though.
That would be a very strong endorsement.
