I am done with the both of them! Will I come around by November? I doubt it. This shit is so goddamned stupid, I just cannot stand it. This Party blows...

I hope you do come around...

23. I have voted a straight Democratic ticket every election since 1972.
I am just fed up with the lies, the bullshit, the corporate whoring, the general dishonesty. The 2006 elections just crystallized the understanding I already had and now this primary season has just sealed the deal. There is a certain level to which no one should be asked to stoop in order to be lied to by a particular political party and its operatives - I am just too goddamned tired of stooping...

27. Well, as I say, thanks for your citizenship.
I was kind of hoping for a SCOTUS that would uphold Roe.

But hey, that's me.

29. Look at all the Democrats who voted for Scalia, Thomas, Alito, and
Roberts. I no longer know for sure who has who's back anymore...

33. Well, life can be complex. My suggestion would be to vote
for the party in favor of upholding Roe and which has traditionally been the party of JFK, RFK, FDR, and Dr. King.

But hey. You decide for yourself.

14. Oh no, not the Supreme Court BS again???
There are 4 extremists on the Supreme Court for ONE reason and ONE reason only:

The Democratic members of the Senate APPROVED them.

They did NOTHING to try and stop them.

NOTHING.

Got it?

The whole SC canard is a ruse to get everyone to keep voting for dog shit instead of cow shit because there's usually less of it in any one particular place.

25. Charming. Explain your stance to your daughters and granddaughters
one day. I'm sure they'll appreciate it, but my wife and daughters-in-law seem to think we don't need anymore Scalias or Thomas's.

They, after all, seem to like them just fine.

Judging by their confirmation votes and all.

15. I wish that I trusted the Democrats more than I do. I have been a
"straight-ticket" Democrat since 1972 and I just cannot do it anymore. Look at how many Democrats voted for Alito; voted for Roberts; voted for Scalia; voted for Thomas... Think of how many Democrats regularly vote with the Republicans on important, meaningful issues... The party is only marginally better than the Republicans. I know, I know, that "margin" is better than nothing...I just don't know anymore....

22. Gotta improve the Party, not abandon it. Vote in better Democrats.
I know it ain't easy. If I had to vote for Hillary it would be real tough. And I'm not as happy with Obama as I'd like. But it's that or President Walnuts. Not much difference? Then we have to work for the future, get better senators and congressmen etc. My 2 cents

24. I have been working for almost forty years and it has all just gotten
worse. I am tired, I am done. I am going to work on my life for a while and leave all this fascism to grow on its own - and don't kid yourself, there is fascism on both sides of the aisle...

32. Sure, I hear ya
but don't you think it's possible to vote in better people? I'm not ignoring what you said about working for 40 years, believe me. Good on ya for that. BUT I can't help thinking that things are different now....the info travels a lot faster. Maybe it's possible to put in better Democrats?

And believe me, I'm not kidding myself about the Fascism on both sides of the aisle.

26. I agree that the Democratic Party is disappointing but we have to elect a Democrat
Our only choice right now is to elect a Democrat to the White House, elect more Democrats to Congress, and then hold their feet to the fire.

Also, it's easy to confuse the nasty stuff on DU for the campaigns. The campaigns aren't as bad.

I think maybe we would all do well to spend more time offline, doing things in the real world, rather than reading and posting here.

31. We can't "hold their feet to the fire" when we can't not vote for them.
How do you threaten them when you can never not vote for them? Every election you vote for them because you have no alternative. Well, at some point in time you either make your alternative or you drop out. I am currently investigating "alternatives"...we'll see...
