This "pulitzer prize winner", Samantha Power needs to be raked over the coals. A woman with her educational background does not take mis~steps...everything she shays or does is calculated. Anything Samantha Power has said or written against Senator Clinton should be re~examined and needs to be exposed for the hate~mongering that it is. Obama has surrounded himself with snakes and crooks. It's time the media wake up to that fact.

I am glad that Samantha Power said what she did. The media will be discussing the depths to which the Obama campaign has SUNK. This kind of coverage is priceless and is sure to cost Obama in the end. Senator Clinton is correct in comparing Obama to Kenneth Starr and Samantha Power just PROVED it.

Samantha Power one of Barack Obama's "TOP FOREIGN POLICY ADVISORS"!

7. What a lot of nonsense.
The comparison was because Obama asked Clinton to come clean about her tax returns SINCE she left the White House.

When Clinton was running for senate she asked the SAME thing about her opponent - to release his tax returns.

She is a hypocrite.

Good lord, the logic around here is so bad.

Guess soon we'll be seeing a new photo of McCain hugging HRC's armpit...

how many hillarians have resigned after the muslim lies, the NAFTA crap, the drug dealing deceit, and more?

The problem is hillary approves this stuff because it is who she is. Truth and honesty are campaign slogans for her, not an approach to life.

I have never felt more regret about a resignation forced by the Monsters from the Dark Side.

We've been playing into their hands for months. Ever since the far left started slinging mud (right wing hateful talking points) and lies about Hillary. Then Hillary supporters were forced to defend her. That's when it all started and the Obamites started this free for all and are totally responsible for generating so much hate.

20. LOL!! Hey, genius, Power IS a pulitizer prize winner.
Putting that in quotation marks just makes you look ignorant. And you're wrong about her comments being calculated. Unlike Dirty Hilly's charming toadies, Wolfshit and Penn, Power is not a politician and has never been involved in politics before. And sorry, but this is the very definition of a one day wonder. The story ended when she resigned. Let's move on to Wolfshit's remarks about Obama being Ken Starr.

23. I think both campaigns should refrain from personal attacks
and I say that as a Hillary supporter.

However, I also think that being compared to Ken Starr is a little bit different to being called a "monster." Can you imagine if the Clinton campaign would have compared Obama to Ted Bundy?

Both campaigns should focus on the important issues at hand and stop the whining and complaining.

49. You go ahead and justify calling a candidate a monster
Obama supporters would go nuts if someone would have called Obama something like that. Do you think DUers who support Obama would accept an apology if the shoe is on the other foot?

She resigned and Clinton had ZERO to do with it. There are Clinton supporters who stepped over the line and resigned or were fired and I don't blame Obama for it.

Obama doesn't need supporters like her saying stuff like that in public. Once he runs against McCain, he can NOT be surrounded by such loose cannons. The last thing we want the Democratic nominee having to do is to apologize publicly for inappropriate name-calling.

Criticize all you want but don't resort to name-calling. And this goes for both campaigns.

71. Unlike a few of the Obama supporters, I can criticize my candidate about things I don't like.
I am not blind to her faults. She shouldn't talk positive about McCain or Reagan, neither should he.

Besides that, whatever is going on here on DU does not reflect what is going on in America. As you can see with all of the polls, Hillary still has strong support among Democrats. Maybe not as high as Obama in some places, but still strong.

You might not see as many Hillary supporters here on DU any more. Many have left DU because of the blind and vicious hatred against her. Others just have the GD-P forum on hide so they don't have to read the trash.

Right now, DU looks like a lake full of piranhas with a few injured animals trying to swim to the other side. Once only piranhas are left, you'll be eating each other.

I still haven't made a final decision.

I watch the rhetoric on both sides mainly here in GDP, not exclusively. I dislike what I've seen in the last couple of weeks from Hillary, admittedly it was a well timed execution of the kitchen sink mantra IMO. She did what she did to stay in the race and she has the chops and the "balls to play in the big sand box. But the fighting style is something I've never liked.

If Obama has gone negative (and I do believe he is making an effort not to) it's like Bambi verses Godzilla.

Peace.

46. Hillary made friends with the man who joked about her daughter being "ugly".
She IS a monster.

The Los Angeles Times, in its Life & Style section, provided an oblique rendering of the joke that did not fully convey its ugliness. When Maureen Dowd penned a column in the New York Times about the joke, she wrote that McCain "is so revered by the press that his disgusting jape was largely nudged under the rug." But Dowd chose not to relay the joke, either.

The joke did appear in McCain's hometown paper, the Arizona Republic, and the Associated Press did report the joke in full, so everyone in the press had access to McCain's words. But by censoring themselves, the Post, the Times and others helped McCain deflect flak and preserved his status as a Republican presidential contender.

Salon feels its readers deserve the unadulterated truth. Though no tape of McCain's quip has yet emerged, this is what he reportedly said:

"Why is Chelsea Clinton so ugly?
Because her father is Janet Reno."

http://www.salon.com/news/1998/06/25newsb.html

A Hillary-Clinton-vs.-John-McCain election would be "the most civilized election in American history," joked Bill Clinton, "because they like and respect each other."

Bill Clinton made this remark in a speech about how his Senator wife has worked well with Republican Senators, particularly with McCain. "She and John McCain are very close," said the former president.

McCain, who recently won the endorsement of the New York Times, exchanged pleasantries with Hillary Clinton at the ABC debate earlier this month. He told her she did a "good job" in New Hampshire and asked her to say hello to Bill for him.

68. Kerry did not say precisely who he was speaking of
and when he had a press conference to say that he was NOT apologizing he spoke of those people who were putting out lies. He may not have intended the comment to be public, but he also had no difficulty standing behind it. In 2004, a subset of the Republicans had already shown themselves to be crooks and liars.

Here the word monster was over the top - and I assume she couldn't claim she meant a sesame street monster.

67. Aides running off at the mouth are nothing compared to campaigns
who spread a smear that directly impacts an election. The vote in Ohio was based on NAFTA. Prior to the vote, Obama was trashed far and wide over a claim that was immediately refuted by none other than the Prime Minister of Canada and recorded on videotape. But never mind, the trashing continued, and Obama took a rare beating in Ohio. So what have we learned now? It was actually the Clinton campaign who contacted the Canadians and told them to take her position with "a grain of salt." She lied to Ohio voters and won. You must be very proud - especially given we've had a president who lies as a matter of course for the past 7+ years. Is that the experience she's touting?

It seems to me that if HRC supporters like you could admit that no one is perfect, and that like me, you all have said things that were regretted later and show some forgiveness it would be a virtue that would help to cut off some of your and HRC's sharp edges and make people see that by doing so you are all acting like mature, professional, and caring people. Something to think about?

obama and his people should be careful about slinging mud, cause there is lots of mud to go around. just because something 'resonates' doesn't mean it's fair game. It seems as if both camps are on the agressive and the only one really winning is mcCain.

talking about that one. What should he make her eat for spewing the same propaganda that bush was to convince us to go to war for the oil...wait no, they were convincing us it was about 9/11. Thats the war, I'm not sure how it works if you don't support spending bills that they tied equipment and pay into, I'm talking about one seeing the reality that there was no reason for it and the other seeing that there was a reason...oil. I don't think oil for lives was a good agenda, but some do and they continue to support those candidates. I wonder if they would if it were their family members over there?

I know that all of them that sold us a lie that killed my cousin can kiss my ass, I will never support them because they have shown their true colors...who's agenda they support, the elite. Fuck the lives lost, it wasn't there family.

Also, I don't have enough time to name all the Clinton surrogates who have made rotten statements about Obama and his supporters, like the asshole Union guy in OH who called Obama supporters "latte drinking Burkenstock wearing trust fund babies." Do you condone that??? Why didn't Hillary denounce it?? Double standards as usual. You have embraced someone who has embraced the opposition and taken the scorched Earth negative approach. Yes, let's have a CNN special about whether Powers was being heartfelt or calculated. Maybe they'll have Candy Crowley present reasons why some people think that Hillary Clinton is, in fact, a monster, and the rest of the crew can debate whether or not they're right, while David Gergen says tsk, tsk, tsk. They might even send Anderson Cooper on location--in a black t-shirt!--to examine the "facts" about whether Hillary Clinton is, indeed, a monster. Maybe they'll call it "Planet in Peril?"
