The Clinton camp is about to PAY and PAY in a big way, Obama wouldn't let POWERS go . . .
Edited on Fri Mar-07-08 01:23 PM by wndycty
. . .without having a strategy in place to make the Clinton camp pay. According to THE PAGE there is an Obama call at 12:30 PM (Central) and I doubt that it will be all about "we're sorry." Oh they will apologize, but I expect them to raise the bar and call out the Clinton campaign. I would not be surprised to see some of the Clinton camp's "off the record" comments to the press become "on the record." Also, going forward I would not be surprised to see everyone calling the Clinton camp out whenever they get reckless with their comments.

I am looking forward to the press recap of the today's Obama call.

But I do hope Obama can make a dent.

17. Obama looks like he wants to get in on it
He must fear an erosion of his support which all of his hope talk hasn't been able to slow.

And, even though Obama has been smearing Hillary Clinton all throughout the campaign as some kind of trigger-happy warmonger, he'll insist he's just striking back. But, anyone looking on can see that he's just practicing what he derides the Clinton campaign for; 'politics as usual'

22. Harpy...
harpy
noun- Greek and Roman Mythology
a rapacious monster described as having a woman's head and body and a bird's wings and claws or depicted as a bird of prey with a woman's face.

And if someone called Obama a minotaur, that would be sexism too right?

Oh the false, selective outrage from the Hillary camp about sexism :eyes:

It's not sexism that bothers the Hillary camp, just criticism of your gal.

13. When Jackson Stephens STAKED WalMart he was a fascist and when he brought BCCI to this country
Edited on Fri Mar-07-08 01:31 PM by blm
he became a terrorist supporting thug.

Jackson Stephens STAKED the Clintons political careers and underwrote Bill's primary campign when Bushies expected to be impeached after the release of the BCCI report.

So Bill did was he GROOMED TO DO - protect BushInc and the powerful cronies named in that BCCI report - all throughout the 90s so Bush2 could re-emerge stronger than ever.

Great deal for BushInc and Stephens, eh?

16. no, Sam was pro-Walmart
he just equated Walmart with America.

Walmart was already importing a lot of goods from China...

And Walmart was very anti-union.

23. You must be watching a different primary
Obama is a great communicator and has charmed the people and the media(new and old media). Thats why the Republicans are working harder for Hillary than McCain right now. Clinton is about as popular as herpes, and Obama is the biggest phenomena since JFK.

She isn't playing any fiddles she is just desperately trying to stay afloat long enough for her hit teams to dig up any kind of dirt on Obama. She's probably got Karl Rove on conference call right now.

26. Other side of the coin, from TPM, has HRC "bitch-slapping" the BO
camp, or in other words, gotten "into his mind" such that he is staggering from slap after slap, vulnerable and without defense.

LINK: http://talkingpointsmemo.com/archives/182191.php

Ms. Power should not have resigned. And since when did Rovian/Bushler tactics make complementary Democratic practices? I have agonized for over 7 years with the worst kind of political secrecy, corruption, and tactical strategies, and I cannot see a goddamned bit of difference between what the * camp has done and what the HRC camp is now doing?

And furthermore, what the fuck is HRC doing with a Mark Penn firm that represents herself as well as John MCain? Are they a two-fer?

Scorched earth politics is far beyond the normal blood sport of infighting between candidates seeking the same nomination--are Democratic leaders at the State and National levels going to let this shit play out? If so, I may need to do more than quit visiting democratic message boards, I may need to find another affiliation, or I don't know what--how tiresome can this all get?

BO is at a crux: play nice and appear whipped as portrayed by HRC and the MSM; or get negative and get abused by the HRC frame that he's sexist, impolite, and impolitic. A better strategy must be found because the latter two mentioned are losing propositions.

27. Plouffe: "You have to wonder whether she'll be open and honest with the American people"
Plouffe: "You have to wonder whether she'll be open and honest with the American people"

Obama campaign manager David Plouffe returned to the issue of Clinton's secrecy today, pointing to a USA Today story that reports that Bill Clinton's instructions to the National Archive have resulted in copious redactions to documents concerning his pardons.

"Behind closed doors, they’re trying to prevent the American people from evaluating experience," he said. "You have to wonder whether she’ll be open and honest with the American people as president."

He also noted, again, that Clinton doesn't need to wait until April 15 to release the last six years of tax returns.

Clinton is "one of the most secretive politicians in America today," he said.

Plouffe, floating the attacks, used more or less the same excuse that Clinton's advisors have in attacking -- aka "vetting" -- Obama.

"The Republicans certainly aren’t going to consider anything out of bounds," he said.

He also responded to Samantha Power's suggestion that Obama's plan for Iraq is nothing more than a "best case scenario."

Obama's plan is a "rock-solid commitment," he said.

ALSO: Plouffe suggested that the campaign had mishandled the Goolsbee story.

"We regret how it was handled and wish all the information had been provided at the first moment," he said, though he maintained that Goolsbee had been misquoted.

They just handed Obama a perfect opportunity and he ran with it. Now, the next time anyone in Hillary's camp says anything remotely rude about Obama, people will bring this up.
