Butler County in southwest Ohio is the most Republican county of all Ohio's 88 counties. 26 county offices and none of them are held by Democrats. Yet, the strangest thing happened on Tuesday... the Butler County Democratic Party increased in registered members by over 200% and now has more registered members than the Republican Party. Hillary Clinton won this county in the Democratic Primary by 10%.

Barack Obama won only 5 out of 88 counties in Ohio and those counties were the ones where Democrats are abundant. Yet Hillary Clinton won the state by only 10%. I have been told directly by Republicans here in Ohio that they voted for Hillary for the express purpose to either cause a split convention or to get her nominated because they know she is the weakest candidate against John McCain. To a person they will all be returning to voting Republican in the general election. To a judge monitoring the elections, Marilyn Hatfield, numerous Republicans taking a Democratic ballot said they were voting for Hillary "because of that thing Rush said." I could not imagine voting for Huckabee (if I could) to sabotage the Republicans. It would be unethical. What's wrong with those Republicans? In my opinion, only a tiny number of people would engage in that kind of behavior.

After all, we've all read articles saying that many white Republican women are voting for Clinton and many anti-war Republicans are voting for Obama. There's a real chance the Republican Party is facing some serious problems.

As the post cited in the OP explains, if a voter is challenged at the primary, then the voter would have to state under penalty of election falsification that he or she supported the principles of the Democratic (or whatever) party.

But as far as I know, that circumstance didn't apply. So, AFAIK, no election fraud here.

ETA: I'm not claiming direct knowledge of applicable Ohio law -- just working from a passage quoted in that post, and explaining why I don't think it means what the poster apparently thought it meant.

I don't really want to tee off on the original poster here, who simply used the title of the post being quoted. Maybe the OPer could have done a bit more research.

The post being quoted explains why the author thought the term "election fraud" was warranted here: because, under certain circumstances, it is a fifth-degree felony falsely to avow one's desire to affiliate with a party that one doesn't actually support.

However, the language quoted there seems to apply only if a voter is challenged. I've seen no evidence that any of these voters was challenged, or that any of them realized he or she was doing something legally questionable.

So, I agree that "Alleged" would improve the title.

I went to vote yesterday in Cleveland, and of course, I was super AMPED to finally voice my support for Obama.

What I wasn't prepared for, however, was the crazy ride down Chester and Euclid after seeing humongous ROAD CLOSED signs blocking both entrances to the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections.
