Plouffe: "You have to wonder whether she'll be open and honest with the American people"

Obama campaign manager David Plouffe returned to the issue of Clinton's secrecy today, pointing to a USA Today story that reports that Bill Clinton's instructions to the National Archive have resulted in copious redactions to documents concerning his pardons.

"Behind closed doors, they’re trying to prevent the American people from evaluating experience," he said. "You have to wonder whether she’ll be open and honest with the American people as president."

He also noted, again, that Clinton doesn't need to wait until April 15 to release the last six years of tax returns.

Clinton is "one of the most secretive politicians in America today," he said.

Plouffe, floating the attacks, used more or less the same excuse that Clinton's advisors have in attacking -- aka "vetting" -- Obama.

"The Republicans certainly aren’t going to consider anything out of bounds," he said.

3. I don't think...
Senator Clinton is being secretive about her taxes but just
plan ignorant. I don't see why she feels people will wonder
or stand in awwww... over her return.

13. That is correct. The entire campaign hinges on that single point.
But it seems to be working. Have you checked the delegate count?

5. I don't have to wonder at all. The past couple weeks have proven everything I feared
about her as a candidate. She's reverted to form (and lost a lot of respect in the process).

6. jeez -- the SAME could be said for Obama
one word -- REZKO.

Has HE released ALL the paperwork involving his real estate transactions with his slumlord pal?

I guess it's OKAY for him to be secretive until caught, right? :sarcasm:

7. Most presidents aren't open and honest with the American people. In my lifetime
Jimmy Carter comes the closest, and we all know what good that did him.

8. Clintons HAVE to be secretive as they protected Bush's secrecy and privilege throughout the 90s
and any thorough examination of all their documents and papers would make that obvious to even the most fanatical Clinton supporter.

Clintons were GROOMED in Arkansas by BFEE man Jackson Stephens to put on donkey masks and get to DC and PROTECT the Bushes and their powerful cronies.

Stephens didn't bankroll Clintons career and primary campaign so Democrats could get their policies passed.

14. Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck!!!
attack MCLAME!!!!

This colossally fucking stupid who cut the fart contest bullshit is a fucking waste of time!!!

If this was a fucking god damn contest as to who can shoot who in the foot first, both of these idiots (hillary and obama) would have no legs left.

All the while mclame is laughing is damn ass off while they give him all the free press and campaign coverage he wants.

If I hear one more time, one or both of these frigging morons talk about how unqualified the other or both are about running this fucking swamp of a financial mess this country is, I will scream.

The target is MCLAME, GOT IT, GENIUS'????

Stop the clusterfuck pissing match already, Jesus Christ on a fucking trampoline!!!! This total bullshit negative tit for tat has to fucking stop! Now!!!

This is just the most god damn embarrassing pile of shit I have ever seen in the world. all these two talking heads have to do is get their shit together to make it to november and the election is handed to them. It is their's to lose and you know what?

They are losing it big time!

Write to these two dumb bastards now and tell them to shut the fuck up, suck it up and attack mclame!!!

Christ all mighty!!!

15. Nafta is the biggest problem in the country right now.
Edited on Fri Mar-07-08 03:59 PM by superconnected
Hillary is pro nafta.

Unfortunately Obama is looking very much like he is also.

We need to go after those two before they get elected or the first thing they will do is raid whatever interest the US has left and give it to their corporate sponsors.

I don't know how to make hillary or obama accountable but we need to call them on this loudly and then not turn a blind eye like the republicans did for the bush crime family. Let them call each other out.

Maybe one will slip up and really accuse the other of the truth, I doubt it though because how they don't call each other on anything exact and important. It pretty much tells me they have the same backers.

Mccain will continue bush's will but at least HE has spoken out against nafta- specifically to stop them. I doubt he'll do it but that's more than Hillary and Obama have done. All they've said is they won't join nafta this year if some changes aren't made. That does nothing. They haven't said ANYTHING about reversing nafta and that's what we need - a reversal as well as high tarrifs for goods arriving in the country that didn't use american labor. Since we can't trust mccain, we know we cant trust hillary, and obama looks like he's not against nafta we're screwed all ways.

The only thing left is if politics gets dirty enough that these two start getting exposed. I hope they do. Next time maybe kucinage or anyone else that is honest may get a chance.

19. That's ridicuous. Hillary was annoited 2 yrs ago.
The election is rigged and too many have made money in making sure she's our next president. Too many heads would roll if it failed.

When your watching the NWO very closely, you'll see what I'm talking about. 'Ranks' are always being formed of dedicated/loyal minions under the Rockefeller-Rothschild agendas. Simple operations such as fixing elections should be just childs play and easily operated...if these simple tasks are not done to snuff...these people will never be trusts for future work. New Hampshire is an example of criminal activity controlling the election baords.

17. The day I believe ANY politician is both open and honest
The day I believe ANY politician is both open and honest with the American people is the same day I'll purchase the Brooklyn Bridge.

But then again, since I neither deify nor demonize either candidate, this Plouffe piece simply vocalizes what I think we should be saying about all politicans-- even the one's I vote for.
