these revotes? Who can buy these elections and a candidate? Big donors? Small donors? How open will donations be? Who is in charge of the donations? Should they be treated as campaign donations? Should there be a limit to the size of donations? I think this proposal for a revote for sale has a real potential to equally smack of backroom deals. It also sets a precedent that if you don't follow the rules for the primaries as set by the party, you can just go find a pile of money and have your own election.

Gov. Jon Corzine and Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell are calling on the Democratic Party to hold do-over primaries in Florida and Michigan -- and they're willing to raise millions to pay the tab.
The two Democratic governors, both supporters of Sen. Hillary Clinton's presidential bid, said yesterday they favor new votes in the two states disqualified for holding their primaries too early, concerned that otherwise the party's nominee may be viewed as an illegitimate product of the back room....
