E. Spitzer once told me that Dean was "unelectable" cause he opposed the Iraq war
This was at the NYS Dem winter conference in Lake Placid. I went up to help the Dean campaign.
It took me 5 hours to drive up there.

When I got there, Spitzer and his Chief of Staff were just getting out of their SUV, and they were talking to a man smoking a cigarette.

I approached his Chief of Staff, someone that I knew from SPARC (Stewart Park and Reserve Coalition) and he introduced me to Spitzer.

Spitzer recognized my last name due to my uncles (very active Dems in Albany) early endorsement of him when he first ran for AG (he only won by about 40 votes, STATEWIDE!).

Then we talked about the nomination. He told me that Dean was unelectable, but would not say the same for Kucinich, Sharpton, or Braun). He would not endorse anyone (although he was a closet Lieberman supporter).

So holier then thou Spitzer and Bigdog Bill Clinton are SUPERDELEGATES. Cause the people are too stupid to chose a DLC approved candidate.

Lets end the SUPERDELEGATE stupidity this year! No mas! No more!

2. In 2004 that was true - BushInc still held all the powercards then and the corpmedia
It took the image of the presidential debates, and the strain of 20005's events like Schiavo and Katrina to strip away the protective coatings applied for years earlier by the corpmedia.

And the corpmedia was DEFINITELY targeting any nominee who sought to diminish their ability to expand - and that included Dean, and especially Kerry.

5. That is a very ugly statement. First post of yours I have seen.
and I think it will be the last.

You said:

"I bet
Dean knows how to find a Whore for less than 4300 $"

What an outrageous statement.

7. lighten up
It's a fresh sun shinny day. If you can't joke about politicians and their odd behavior with prostitutes what can you joke about? I’m sorry Howard Dean a man of the people would never pay 4300 $ for a prostitute. (of course he probably wouldn’t pay anything, but that my friend ain’t funny)

24. Those telling me to lighten up did not have to live through Clinton's blow job
in the heart of Florida and all its Southern Baptists.

What a shame things like that are allowed.

And you just tell me to "lighten up."

But then that is how DU is now.

18. I need to lighten up? A poster says Dean is hiring whores? That's funny?
No, I will not lighten up. This place is getting ugly.

You know what? I lived through Bill Clinton's blow job here in Central Florida, with all my fellow teachers...southern baptists taking him over the coals every day.

I took up for him, got laughed at. It was not funny then.

Now it is funny to say Dean could find a cheaper whore? You think that is funny?

It is cheap and it is tasteless.

If anyone alerts on trash like that it will just get the old deleted subthread, and the person who posted it won't get deleted, I will

I think I will find a video of Clinton lying to the public, and tell about my experiences here in SBC hell. And I will post it. And I bet it will get deleted while saying Dean can find a cheaper whore stays.

There is no class about anything anymore.

19. I think you misinterpreted the Dean post
I got a completely different meaning and tone from it - one that was strongly positive for Dean. I like your posts and commitment very much, so I hope you'll take a second look at it.

That is not a compliment, it is tasteless. It is very typical of DU. But if I don't like it and complain too much, I will get deleted.

I hope I misunderstood you. I really do.

25. I think you[re missing the point
the guy was basically saying...Dean would be way too smart to pay that much for a "whore". yes...it was tasteless...but also supremely funny. We're poking fun at Spitzer's stupidity...and recklessness...something Dean is definitely NOT.

26. Doesn't matter.
Edited on Tue Mar-11-08 05:51 PM by madfloridian
It is said, and not everyone will take it the way you did.

It is said. It left me free to talk about Bill Clinton's blow job in the oval office that made it hard to be a Democrat here.

I don't usually post stuff like that, but that comment about someone who is scrupulously ethical left me free to not feel guilty.

Bill had a blow job in the oval office and lied about it.

Spitzer paid for it. And cheap jokes are made about Dean. Oh, my.

In fact I think it is time for a post about it.

So I am not sure which is worse. And I am supposed to lighten up?

Those are two people honored with votes to pick our president. And their behavior is slightly different, one paid, one did not.

Me...lighten up? After what I lived through in FL during Bill's indiscretions...no lightening up. We finally get some good and decent people in our party trying to fix things.. and we use their names in the same sentence as whore??

Iowa decided, the media decided.

This time I fear the courts will decide.

15. Dean was gang tackled by the Dem Establishment
Gephardt, Kerry's, and Clinton's people formed a 527 and ran the infamous add that morphed Dean into Osama.

Hillary losing this nomination bid is sweet revenge for me.
