You and I both recall 2004 and how heated it got. It seemed pretty obvious to me that this primary would devolve into claims and counter-claims of racism and sexism. Hell, discussions of Joe Lieberman STILL invite claims of anti-semitism.

I must say, however, that I didn't quite (almost, but not quite) foresee a Geraldine Ferraro coming forward and claiming that "Obama is only succeeding because of a bunch of ni__er-lovers." (Yes, that's how it sounds to me. I heard that kind of 'thinking' a lot in my life.)

Neither Clinton nor Obama are my first, second, or third choices of the original candidates. I've made no bones about favoring Kucinich all the way to a possible write-in. For me, it's about their political values and positions ... and their track records affirming those values and positions. If Kucinich were black, or female, or both ... it'd only enhance my support for him.

The Clinton campaign and the Vichy Wing of the Democratic Party have taken their "scorched earth" strategy to new extremes. The larger political extortion has come from the conservative wing of the Democratic Party for decades ... all akin to the woman claiming before Solomon to be the mother of the baby who was willing to see it cut in half. It's way beyond strange that they don't regard Obama as "centrist" enough. It's about an appetite for POWER ... and burning the house down if evicted.

After all, their threats to vote GOP if the Dem candidate isn't adequately conservative is TWICE AS potent as the leftist threat to vote Nader or Green. Combined with the vitriol aimed at the "leftists," the strategy has bee clear for many years.
