Maybe Hillary's a brilliant stragegist intent on destroying the GOP

It's a stretch, but fun to think about. Here's how she hypothetically could split the GOP in two, effectively destroying it as a viable party.

1. Engage in vicious attacks against Obama, and 'alienating' herself from many Democratic voters

2. At the same time, build up McCain every chance she gets, praising him for his leadership, experience, etc.

3. When she loses the Democratic nomination, approach McCain with the idea of running on a "unity" ticket.

4. GOP conservatives, already pissed off at having to vote for McCain, leave the GOP and form their own Conservative Party, and nominate some conservative hack.

5. Obama wins the presidency, the GOP is in ruins. Voila, mission accomplished.

Dwelling in the land of conspiracy is a lot more fun and exciting. Honestly, you can make up any kind of weird shit, and you'll find a group of people who will accept it as gospel truth. I've often wondered how cool it would be to start my own cult, but it would just be too much work for me, and I'd probably get tired of it before I had a chance to reap the benefits.
