Nader's People Mise Well Just Vote for Bush:
Edited on Fri May-07-04 04:56 PM by mdguss
That way, to quote Ralph, "We'll truly see how bad things can get, and elect a progressive candidate the next time." By that logic, Nader should just endorse Bush.

Please don't vote for a clueless fool, be it Nader or Bush.

And don't forget that good ol' Ralphie gets the same tax breaks as "Kenny Boy" Lay.

1. Nader knows damn well what he's
doing, he's ALWAYS known, and he couldn't care less. He knew in 2000, and he knows now.

2. More convulted logic
Let Bush/RNC have four more years so he'll screw up the country so badly there will be a 2008 Dem landslide in Prez/Senate/Congress ala 1932.

Worth it? No.

3. You know it's sad that he's fooling:
Edited on Fri May-07-04 05:04 PM by mdguss
5 percent of likely voters into believing his crap. I hope he comes to his senses, and atleast decides to be honest and admit that he's grown into a closet Republican.

I also want to add that anybody who's seen John Kerry's ads, and the way he has withstood Bush's negative barrage, and still claims that he's running an "innefective campaign" needs to have their head examined. Kerry is a battle-tested politician who knows what he's doing. I'm going to be proud to vote for him in the fall.

4. Forget Nader.
The electable one shouldn't have to worry about a few Nader voters. You don't see the Repukes worrying about Libertarians taking votes away from Bush, do you?

5. They are worried about Roy Moore:
The pro-ten commandments ex-Alabama Chief Justice. If he ran, he'd take away 3-8 percent on Bush's right. He's made some noises, but Bush has been quick to appease the right (gay marriage, etc) for a reason. They are worried about Roy Moore. For the record, I hope Roy Moore runs.

7. Nobody gave a damn about Nader in the primaries.
Nader said he wouldn't run if Dean or Kucinich got the bid. Nobody gave a damn then, did they? All we had to do was elect a candidate that wasn't controlled by corporate cash and Nader would not be an issue.

10. Yeah, there's a little irony there.
But we were told that Kerry was electable, not that Kerry was electable only if Nader didn't run, and of course our Dem leaders wouldn't lie to us, so it must be true, Nader or no Nader.

Wanna know why some people still plan to, even now?

Ask the folks represented by your avatar what they offer the left.

8. The Republicans will only consolidate their power.
Nader's prophesized backlash (he's been preaching "they're the same" since the 70s) never comes.

Because mathematically, if you vote for Nader instead of Kerry, then Kerry gets one less vote while Bush* gets the same number of votes.

11. How's that Nader-baiting working for you?
Did it get another Democrat registered to vote today? Did it put a single dollar in your state party's treasury? Did it get any Kerry flyers passed out at the mall?

Spend your energy wisely, rather than posting flamebait bullshit like this, why don't you? ;eyes:

27. Today, I got a mailing from Nader for President 2004.
That's because I both supported and donated to his campaign in 2000. I will not, however, do that this time! Come hell or highwater, John Kerry has my vote on November 2nd.

Anyway, I thought I'd provide a few quotes from Nader's cover letter:

"No one wants to defeat George W. Bush more than I do.

"So why run for president? Because my 40 years of experience in Washington, D.C., fighting for the people, says that the Democratic Party is just not going to get the job of removing the president-selected Bush done in their customary loser ways.

"There needs to be a second front."

...

"Can we tolerate four more years of Bush? No. But can we tolerate four more years of a Democratic Party that has refused to have the guts to just say NO to one bad Republican initiative after another, including the war resolution, the tax cuts for the wealthy, and the other examples cited above?"

...

"If you want to vote your fears, do so.

"If you want to shift the power, and if you want to move forward a solution revolution, then join this campaign."

While I understand where Nader is coming from, in 2004 we simply can't afford the luxury of a third-party candidate. Because of that, I resent our woefully inadquate two-party system a hell of a lot more than I do Nader.

And now...let the flaming begin!

30. Ralph Nader claims he took more votes from Bush in 2000
than Gore in 2000. He did an interview in either Details or Esquire this past month. He says statistics show that Nader took more votes from Bush in 18 states and that Gore "slipped on the banana peel" of Florida when he failed so many other places that Nader isn't to blame
