Hilary's description of her trip to Bosnia in her book "Living History"
She gave a somewhat different account in her book, "Living History."

In it, she said there were reports of fire but does not mention hearing or seeing it on her way to Tuzla.

"Due to reports of snipers in the hills around the airstrip, we were forced to cut short an event on the tarmac with local children, though we did have time to meet them and their teachers and to learn how hard they had worked during the war to continue classes in any safe spot they could find," she wrote.

I've looked high and low for any archived news article to support Hillary's claims and come up with nothing. I suspect the real story is what she wrote in her book and IMO is actually supported by Former Army Secretary Togo West's description (in the article) that the military needed to take safety precautions with Clinton given that it was a combat zone. He made no mention of shots fired and considering he was on the trip and is also a Hillary supporter, I believe him.

1. The First Lady would never be allowed to be in any danger, same
as the President. It's absolutely ridiculous for her to paint this as some sort of brave and risky mission.

2. That's exactly how I see it too.
They took precautions so as not to endanger a First Lady and her child. If it had taken place as Hillary now says, it would have been all over the news and there would be archived stories.

3. Yes--it would be considered a massive failure of advance security precautions
if it actually happened the way she described it. Heads would have rolled, news stories would have said "What went wrong?"
