3. yes, there is a cut off date which is why people are urging anyone who
wants to give money to do it before . i'm sure there are some who don't know about this rule and might have plans to give, but after the convention when it might be too late.
8. you can, but you have to do it before the that certian time.
it has to do with the new rules. i don't have a link but i'm sure someone else will provide one. i don't know the details of it. but i just know it's true that one can not donate after a certain date.
9. I think you can still give but it is considered a new electin cycle for
those who are maxed out. So if you're close to maxing out, you can give until the end of July. In August the amount starts over for the "new" election cycle. We are still in the primary election cycle.
Each campaign gets $76 million to spend on the campaign, unless they choose to forego the public financing. If they acccept (and both campaigns will) they no longer can raiseand spend funds from private donors.
The one part I don't quite follow is with one convention at the end of July and the other at the beginning of September when does the financing kick in?
as soon as the party convention is over. Therefore, Kerry gets his cash infusion a month ahead of Bush, but has to stretch the $76 million for an extra month.
