Clinton Less Appealing Than Obama as Potential V.P.

PRINCETON, NJ -- Only 42% of Democrats nationwide want Hillary Clinton to be the Democratic vice presidential nominee if Barack Obama wins the presidential nomination, while 55% think he should pick someone else. By contrast, the majority of Democrats -- 58% -- would like to see Obama nominated as vice president if Clinton heads the ticket.



Thus, if the Democratic electorate has its way, Obama will be on the Democratic presidential ticket this fall, as either president or vice president. Clinton's chances of being on the ticket seem more likely to end if she loses the nomination -- at least according to Democrats' weak support for an Obama-Clinton unity ticket.

I'd rather see her develop her own "power base" in the senate (or maybe as NY Gov, as some have suggested) than to play go-to-funerals host-teas second fiddle to Obama.

once this election is over with (That of course includes George W Bush) as well. We need real change in this country and it does not include people like the Clinton's or Bush's.

4. She did herself no favors by trying to smear Obama

A month back I bet this poll would have shown a slight majority in favor of her being his VP.

5. Makes sense. I don't want Clinton as Obama's running mate.

After all the lying and sleaze from her campaign, she needs to go to the penalty box.

She needs to be sidelined for the rest of the election season once she's defeated in the primaries. We don't need Rovian politics in the Democratic party. Obama's proven that we can win by fighting clean.
