I'm very worried that things could improve for *, post 6/30 handoff

Am I being too concerned? I mean, he's been sinking lately but we need to keep it up. I don't want anymore upsurges in his polls and, much as I want peace in Iraq and all, Bush HAS to go. What are your feelings on this?

and is something that everytime I hear Bush say about free elections in Iraq I get pissed off,is the voting systems being rigged in Florida and Ohio.Otherwise it's gonna be a sweet Kerry victory.

....they WON'T improve for the people of the US as long as he remains in power. Everything else is shit. And what's going to change, with the banishing of digital cameras, and the phony handover of power, and the bogus UN resolution...US troops will still be in harms way, and we still wasted a HELLA lot of money on a pack of lies from a guy the administration now says is a Iranian spy.

3. I share your concern, however

*, himself, seems to be steeling Murika for the fact that the violence will get worse during and after the hand-off. If the evidence weren't overwhelmingly that that will happen, I imagine he'd be telling us that June 30 would be the beginning of the end of all our problems. If * is worried, it may be the case that the whole country is going to go ballistic. (Our poor soldiers, the poor Iraqi people!)

Things might conceivably get better later in the Summer, but given what a p*ss poor job he's done of everything so far, I have a hard time believing that's likely.

I surely wish things would get better so our soldiers could come home and the people of Iraq could rebuild their country, but with the incompetents in charge, I don't see it happening.

I hope the situation in Iraq *does* improve. The alternative is more dead Americans and Iraqis. So any improvement is fine with me.

Bush has been inept on enough fronts to lose the election even if Iraq is completely ignored, or if peace breaks out.

It's so ridiculous to wish harm upon the Iraqi people and our country in order to get rid of Bush*. We should be hoping that people wake up to the long term consequences of the policies that Bush* and the Republicans have passed and not wish for more death and destruction just to get Bush* out of office.

5. I'm pretty sure this will signal the media to stop covering Iraq

It will disappear for a week or two.

Iraq doesn't have a military; therefore, it can't be controlled. Team Bush is NOT pulling troops out, they are NOT allowing elections until "February." February?! Why the arbitrary date?

10. There are more problems then just Iraq for W

I think the main thing that we need to do is not get tied down to the war as the reason to vote for Kerry. There needs to be a much broader reason. These include Education, health care, environment and the deficit.

Also, the situation over there I see as unstable for some time. Even after they get their own elections it's going to be rough. The imagines from the prison scandal is not going to be dropped from anyone's minds anytime soon. I know I can't forget them. They seemed to erase all moral high ground we had and I want it invested as high up the chain as it goes.

But mainly, Kerry needs to make sure this isn't a one issue election. And I think he is trying to do that.

There are quite a few things this administration needs to answer for. As often as I've heard it used, I think bushco would be loathe to lose their "How dare you attack the preznit while our troops are in harm's way" shield.

Unfortunately, his strategy of maintaining a large force there ensures exactly that--either he cedes all control of the country to warlords, or he loses a steady trickle of soldiers propping up whatever puppet 'democracy' they choose.

Bush already screwed up by not adopting Kerry's plan for stabilizing Iraq with the UN and NATO over a year ago. Kerry will win that debate in the fall no matter what happens in Iraq.

Bush's stubbornness already cost this country too much and he is proven unable to work with or lead other nations.

15. I hate to say this, but

things aren't going to get any better in Iraq. In fact, I would wager that they'll continue to get worse, especially now that 88 percent of Iraqis want us out of their country. I'm just waiting for the entire thing to blow up in our faces.
