Tonight shows why Obama should not be the nominee.
When he needed to Obama didn't step up. He was wobbled early on and never was able to recover. The questions that came up

were not a surprise, these were things that Obama and his campaign should have been prepared for.

Hillary got some tough questions, the Sniper-gate question from a citizen for example, she owned up to her mistake and apologized and asked for forgiveness

with grace and dignity.

Obama did not come prepared, he must have been reading DU the last couple of days. His supporters here keep saying that

these issues are so over. If Obama does not strongly and forcefully distance himself from the Pastor issue, the Ayers issue and the Rezko issue,

and continues this wishy-washy balancing act he will never stop hearing about it.

The patriotism issue is a killer and needs to be addressed or we will be buried in the general. The elitism issue is a killer and needs to be

addressed or we will be looking at McGovern all over again.

Whatever the supporters on this board think, these talking points are not going away. If he can't handle this heat before he even gets to the big show,

we may be looking at a long 8 years of McCain.

Hillary is the answer; look at her demeanor, at her energy; her mastery of the issues, all coming even though she has faced some of the toughest

3 months a candidate could imagine. She never gives up, and she always holds her head high.

Hillary 2008.

protect him from the meanies out there, then simply deliver him to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue because "he's the one?" Good grief.

If Obama would have been put through his paces last fall, he might have been past this by now. If his own campaign had faced up to his associations long ago, head on, he wouldn't be dealing with this now.

I'd blame Gibson and Stephanopoulos, but it's not their fault that someone, anyone finally asked questions that have been out there for months and months. It's not tabloid to ask about Ayers any more than it was tabloid to question Bill Clinton about his past. Hillary's been asked about everything more than once, as they reload to ask it all over again.

Maybe he should hire Hillary to train and prepare him.
if he does get the nomination I do believe that she will be his strongest helpmate and ally. IF he can accept the help and recognize he needs it.

21. Exactly! It's sad that Clinton supporters don't see how they're being
manipulated to support the weakest Dem candidate against McSame.

The Clintons, the American propaganda machine, and so-called "moderators" and army of talking heads all want Clinton to win because they know McSame will - borrowing from Paul Begala's Texan phrase - "beat her like a redheaded stepchild".

Nothing and no one can unite the frothing, hateful, racist Repukes and right-wing fascists better than the word "Clinton".

Absolutely NOTHING.

That's why they all conspire in the brainwashing of Americans using the Clinton fans loyalty to ensure another Repuke in the WH.

It's sad that seemingly intelligent Dems are falling for it...

Clinton attacks Obama at every opportunity. Obama is the one with grace, class, and integrity. You seem glad that Hillary can use right-wing tactics against her party and attack on non-issues. If Obama remains the classy one in the debates against the GOP, don't you think he will exhaust these old issues. Don't you think people will get tired of hearing them and ready to hear about things that actually affect them?

Neither of the two left are any good. I will be very surprised if he can win the general election with his "patriotism" issues. But, let's face it, Hillary has her own issues. McCain is no good either. The Republicans dropped the ball too, they should probably have picked Romney.

If you listened to Dodd in the debates (when he was allowed to speak) he sounded like a true statesman. Biden did too. The MSM steered us towards their picks, and now look what we're left with.

71. Last night showed me more why Obama should be the nominee... You guys are afraid of the Right Wing?
Wow! Obama isn't afraid of the Right wing. He doesn't want to tear another Democrat down. You guys who think Hillary is the answer given she can't win it the natural way are as out of touch as the moderators on Right Wing ABC. I could feel the restraint in him. It was as though to take a real swipe at her was as uncomfortable as hitting a woman. This is where his humility is. He sticks to the issues and only pushes her away.

He only pushed back on the pardons issue to stop her from going any further and you saw what happened. She stopped. She has been the most petty campaigner I've ever seen but Obama is presidential. Filibustering on answers, attacking, having moderators shill for you isn't winning the debate. She lost! All of that and we are now blaming the moderators for unfair questions.

All I hear about is the right wing. I'm not afraid of them. Why are you? They have been wrong for the last 7 years. An ant can beat them.
