Question for ABC producers: Why did the Clinton cheerleaders get "Special" lighting.

It seemed the debate hosts were adamant about controlling the audience in their applause and support of either candidate.
Yet, the cameras and "special" lighting appeared on the Clinton camp heavyweights throughout the night.
I'm sure Obama had his supporters in the arena. Where were they? Why not give "special" treatment to them?

In stage lighting terminology, designing in and programming a "special" light is done in pre-production.
I'm sure the seating arrangements were planned well in advance. But the director and producer choose the lighting.

I'd really like to have transcripts of pre-production, tech-rehearsal, and control room conversations about the highlighting of the Clinton PA supports.

The corporate media stand to make 100s of millions is ad revenue if this goes to August. It seems they are doing their part to prop up the losing side.

Except for one or two bits of obviously corporate-approved applause, they were SILENT.

Except for the end, when it was clear they didn't have to worry about being thrown out - the show was already over, and they booed Gibson at the very end and forced him to cut to commercial.
