Clinton to Obama: Debate without moderators
MARION, Ind. - Hillary Rodham Clinton took the debate dispute to a new level Saturday, challenging her opponent Barack Obama to face off with her in a debate without a moderator, Lincoln-Douglas style.

The Democratic presidential candidate said while campaigning in South Bend, Indiana, the 90-minute debate would allow two candidates to ask each other questions.

59. Oh, Don't Worry. The GOP won't talk about Farrakhan and Hamas this fall...
They turned John Kerry, the War Hero into a Traitor during the month of August 2004.

With Obama, there's no "there" there.

:sarcasm:

Our party is screwed.

And she'll tear their heads off in the process.

Clintons beat the Nazi scum twice.

The first two term Democratic President since FDR.

They've been through it before.

It's not a big deal for them.

Let them take their message straight to the voters. I do however think that this style debate would probably make Clinton look irrational and unhinged and probably some other pretty uncomplimentary things.

48. Yeah let's put him in her element
I think he should debate her again but not in a no holds barred match up.

It comes down to reality; Obama has to reach out to her core voters when all is said and done, where as Hillary can and already has written off his core voters. She can attack and smear with impunity since pissing off young voters is irrelevant to her. Obama would be fighting with both hands tied behind his back.

No way should Hillary be allowed to pull this bullshit. She will come at him kicking, scratching and screaming since she has decided his voters are not necessary on the path she has drawn to 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.

Pull out a paper and ask him to sign it?
Pull out a photo of Rev. Wright and Obama and ask him to denounce again?

She would be delighted to get him to roll around in the muck with her, since she's already filthy with muck.

She doesn't deserve the benefit of the doubt that this would be a serious debate. She has already given it up, permanently.

97. So you disagree with the Hillary supporter?
I look forward to you confronting them with your concerns.

99. Not at all. Had you read the trhead he was saying it was smart politics in 2006.
Unless you agree Clinton is as feeble a challenge to Obama as Tasini was to Clinton, it's not smart politics in 2008. What Obama will leave behind is a distinct failure in the final debate and a refusal to debate even when his complaint about biased moderators is eliminated. That is not smart.

70. Obama doesn't need no stinkin' debates.
Hillary wants free air time. Tell her to pay for it.

She can't control herself to observe the rules with Moderators present.

No more free air time for Hillary.

77. That is how it should be done!
And should have been done, a REAL debate, not the farces we get right now.

78. This might not be a hugely bad idea
Without someone to lead her into the attacks, Hillary will just look like a lunatic. If she really wants Obama to spill her skeleton filled closets all over national TV, maybe he should.

Best lap wins the nom.

At least THAT would be fun to watch.

84. I think Obama will just coast from here onto the nomination.
But I'm sure he appreciates the desperate attention from Clinton and will thank her in this late stage with a few states left.

There will be more debates with McSame, but I don't even see Hillary as a candidate anymore since she has no chance of winning this. So why bother with a debate unless it's just a smear she wants to do. I suppose if you have nothing to lose what would it matter what she said in a debate. Why she could say she would obliterate Iran and it wouldn't matter if your not going to win.

88. If Obama is too scared to debate Hillary, how will he fare with Kim Jong-il,
or Mahmoud Ahmadinejad?

What a wimp.

90. If Hillary is too afraid to debate a pushover like Tasini how would she fare against Kim Jong Il?
What a wimp!

You guys should start a club. "Hypocrites For Hillary!" It could pick up where "Martyrs For Hillary!" left off.

96. It is not a debate that she wants.
What she wants is a shooting gallery with a live target that is tied to a podium.

BAD IDEA. And if he doesn't interrupt, she's going to go over her time limit, and talk and talk and talk and talk and talk...
