Looking for a word

I'm looking for a word that describes a person who believes that the (perceived) behavior and beliefs of one or more individuals within a group exists in all individuals in that group. Is there such a word? I could give examples of what I mean, but I don't think it would be a good idea to do so. I also discourage the rest of you folks from giving examples, lest this descend into a flame fest.

But what is the word I'm looking for?

5. I see what you're getting at - and I could offer some words, but, again, flame fest.

All the words I'm coming up with are adjectives and not the most flattering ones at that. I don't think that there exists a word that describes this type of stereotyping - maybe you should invent one and it can become "word of the year" in Time! :D

13. "Stereotype" is pretty good

In a sentence, one could say "that is an unfair and indeed false stereotype of _________ in general". I think that works pretty well! :thumbsup:

I am getting used to the new world around me I guess though, but my brain's still consumed with everything every time I go to lay down for sleep at night. But I'm kinda getting used to that and am starting to adapt to getting half the sleep I used to lol.

I often call out this behavior when I see it, and always regardless of the group being slandered. This isn't about me. This is a search for a word.
