2. Great were all working on it!
A lot of us in CA, we have tons of volunteers are working in the swing states and Nevada is one of them. I am going with the sierra club to Reno on Aug 6th for the weekend to go door to door to talk about issues. I work on the Kerry campaign locally and lots of groups are calling and going there every week!!

3. That's reason to be cautiously optimistic about NV
Edited on Sun Jul-25-04 12:50 AM by NV1962
I wrote up a summary of the results on my blog. The non-White voters contribute about 25% of Kerry's support.

There's a prior poll conducted in northwest NV, that showed Kerry 42%, Bush 48% - which is very good considering that in 2000 it was Bush 57%, Gore 40% here in northwest NV.

If we manage to keep the "bleed" down of vote surplus for Bush here in northwest NV, we'll carry this state.

Yay Marla! Drop me a note before you depart for Reno.

You guys rock.

4. This is very encouraging
I was worried that Yucca Mountain wasn't gaining any traction as an issue and that NM was the only one of the four SW states (AZ, NV, NM, and CO) that was possibly in play. Instead I believe all four of them are in play, considering Kerry has a slight lead in three of them...That too we haven't really seen any polls come out of CO in a while. It may have tightened up as well (earlier polls showed Bush ahead by around 5 points).

6. It may not be that big
but it might be just enough to push it over.

Either way, it was at the top of possible pick ups this election because of the closeness of the last one. I think Bush won it by less than 4% in '00 - that too, I don't think Gore put too much into that state.

7. Viva Nevada!
My sister in law is a swing voter (reg as a GOP but votes all over the map) and she's backing Kerry.

She voted for Nader in 2000, but after seeing F 911 she's all about getting the baboon out!
