Obama supporter here. I want to say that Hillary did NOT use RFK's assassination

as a reason for staying in the race. I just watched a video of that presser, and she mentioned both Bill's win in California in June, and RFK's win in California in June as the elections that wrapped up (or would have wrapped up) both candidacies as her reason for trying to stay in the race through June.

There wasn't even a HINT that she was promoting the idea that Obama could be assassinated, therefore she's staying in the race. Anyone who suggests that either isn't old enough to remember the jubilation of RFK's supporters after the California Primary and before the assassination, or pulling stuff out of their ass.

Having said that, I believe that Hillary should remind herself that there is no "California Primary" in June, 2008. There's not even a state that can pretend to have enough delegates to make a difference like California did in 1968 and 1992. If this is truly her reasoning for staying in until June, she needs to think on it a little bit longer. She cannot win the nomination at this point, and IMO, doesn't need to go on. But, it's her choice.

But, the meme that Hillary used RFK's assassination as part of her reasoning to stay in is utter bullshit.

2. That primary was in June
What she said didn't make any sense because the primary season started so much later then. It was a lie, which is typical of her, but she was also sending a very subtle message, but veiled enough that she has cover.

But I also think it is early. I mean everybody is so focused on where we are right now, I guess I remember that in June 1992 that's when Bill really wrapped up the nomination. The middle of June, after the California primary. You know, I remember very well what happened in the California primary in 1968 as Senator Kennedy won the California primary. We traditionally have gone longer than you've seen in the last couple cycles.

10. It's those "veiled" messages you Hillary-haters have to watch for.
Now, if you take the first letter of every word she's said since starting the campaign, it's code for the aliens she's sending after Obama.

Your task, once you get through winding each other up over the "veiled" message about Bobby Kennedy's campaign, is to figure out what evil plans she's made with the aliens, and defend your candidate!

5. Tone deafness seems to be a 'thing" with Bill & Hill lately
She is not calling for an assasination, BUT you know it has to have crossed their minds..as in ..IF something happened to thr frontrunner, who would be the fall-back candidate.. she plans to be that candidate..

11. I'm not buying it
EVERY THING SHE SAYS IN A SPEECH IS CALCULATED AND HAS A PURPOSE.

Maybe this is what turns the switch on to put things in motion as Pres. Johnson said happens.

I'd like to be skeptical, but after 9/11, Anthrax, Patriot Act, Iraq, I'm afraid those days are gone - for now.

15. You may (or may not)
find this interesting, I did.

During coffee, the talk turned to President Kennedy, and Johnson expressed his belief that the assassination in Dallas had been part of a conspiracy. Be never believed that Oswald acted alone, although he could accept that he pulled a trigger." Johnson followed that with a statement that had the megaton force of a full size hydrogen bomb. He said, and Janos wrote: "We had been operating a damned Murder Inc. in the Caribbean."

--------------------------------

Increasingly, in the Clubs and Boardrooms of the wealthy, the powerful, the munitions makers...augmented by their bankers and their lawyers, voices began to rise as they mentioned that "God Damned" Kennedy, and worse. In the halls of the Pentagon, in the CIA and other centrally effected areas tensions rose. Finally a consensus coalesced and from that impersonal initiative a decision was reached.

Those few, who knew the methodology and the codes that activated what Lyndon Johnson called "Murder Inc." pushed the button. The deadly system was set in motion. Like the deadly Ghurka scimitar, it is never extracted from its sheath without drawing blood.

The time and place was decided. The intricate and detailed cover story was outlined and made ready, not only for the day of the crime; but for the years to follow. The site was selected and prepared. The professional team moved into place. The elements of the plan went into effect, the carefully manipulated motorcade moved into position, and the shots were fired.

I WISH I thought there was an arm length's of difference in the BFEE and the Clinton's, but I don't.

I'm not saying she meant anything by it, but it was very uncomfortable reading it.
