Obama has certainly claimed leadership in the rhetorical contest
Claiming that "McCain has lost his bearings" gets my vote as the best use of the language yet.
Bearings are little balls, tiny little balls.

1. Obama is more skilled than people give him credit for
He restrained himself against Hillary, because she was a fellow Dem (not that Hillary returned that favor). With McCain he has no such considerations.

'he lost his ball bearings' to correctly imply that the little balls are involved as there are plenty of bearings that are not ball bearings.

But i get your point and appreciate it! just being a nit-picker. :toast:

3. Bearings also refers to navigational skills. If not an allusion to McCain's piloting skills...
... it should be. The correct rap on McCain is the one Ariana Huff was pushing last night on Colbert--the McCain has betrayed his values and corrupted his stands from where he stood in 2000, back when he was a maverick.

the mean streets of the Southside.

The man knows how to fight. He also has a talent for making his opponenets feel good after he's beaten them to a bloody pulp. Just as Dan Hynes.
