14. Air America fires Randi, so XM Radio fires Air America

Air America fired Randi Rhodes for some tasteless jokes about Hillary that were said off the air. However, XM Radio's Air America channel has now put Randi back on the air. They replaced Air America's regular programing (which included a painful guest hosting by Roseann Barr) with Randi's show, which is now on Nova M network.

Likewise, XM has replaced much of Air America's lineup. They broadcast Ed Schultz, and push Hartman to a tape delay in the evening. They replace Air America's nighttime broadcasts with Mike Malloy, who was also fired by Air America and was picked up by Nova M.

I wish XM would get rid of the worst Air America host, who is on 9 to 12 noon EST.

Meanwhile, Air America is hesitating to renew Sam Seder's contract - even for one day a week. He definitely deserves a show 5 days a week.

Randi Rhodes has a public forum, so calling Clinton and Ferraro "fucking whores" is disturbing. Her targets are highly accomplished women undeserving of such invective. Sexism is bad when expressed by men, but it's really hurtful when women do it to each other. Whatever one's politics or candidate preferences, such talk isn't "progressive", it's regressive. Why call Hillary sexually-demeaning names in order to elevate Obama?

I don't know if Randi Rhodes is helping or hurting Barack Obama, but I do know that she's hurting the Democratic Party with this kind of divisive, classist language. White trash? That's how she chooses to describe the majority of Democrats who voted in this year's primaries? I wouldn't be surprised if Randi finds herself back on the unemployment line soon.

But after this campaign is over there will be many that have said things against HRC that cannot be repaired. If she does not get the nomination, HRC will be okay. We supporters will be okay. We know we had the best candidate and all I know is, you obama folks will be stuck with him.
