I figured out the terror warning thingie.
Edited on Sun Aug-01-04 05:51 PM by Mountainman
So terrorists are going to hit in the Northeast. We can't risk danger to the Resident and any Repub congress critters attending the convention in New York so we better call off the Republican Convention.

What? No convention? Well the Repubs can't get ready for the election by November so we better post phone the election. I'm sure the terrorists will keep their warnings coming until then. And all the while we can feel good about Bush's leadership so let's don't change horses yet.

2. But, Bush can keep pumping out negative ads on TV against...
...Kerry/Edwards the whole time, in fact is the convention is postponed or delayed, that means Kerry's ads can't begin.

3. "Oh not at all, look at how BRAVE those Republicans are!"
"Holding their convention right in the middle of where the terrorists might hit! Wow, what fortitude. They are surely the party to protect us."

Think about it. And also think about what a coup it would be to "catch" a terrorist red-handed trying to attack the convention.

6. Your theory is correct
They won't pass up a chance to grandstand. The convention will come off hitchlessly. They moved the convention back to bring it closer to September 11th, but also to try and close the time between their bounce and the November election.

Also there's a big push in Pakistan & Afghanistan to finally nail OBL. If the wave of that coup (pun intended) is still going on during the RNC, Bush should be expecting a mega-bounce. I don't think it'll work, however. Too many people are too pissed off about too much for an August or September surprise to work. They're better off doing the late October surprise instead.

If you give people the time to think things thru, Republican prospects tend to deteriorate.

5. If these threats are so serious
then the Repugs should cancel the convention and W should quit campaigning.

8. I can never figure why any repuglicans ever win anything! Heck..
they are for the rich who are a minority.
The blacks, gays & lesbians, people receiving welfare,
feminists, abortion rights groups, recent immigrants,
lawyers, all unions (teachers, govt workers, industrial
etc), felons, environmentalists, etc. etc. are all
solidly in our camp. And majority of poor people vote
democratic. So why is there a majority of repuglicans
in the congress, and came close enough in 2000 to steal
it from Gore? This is a big mystery.

they will be a much bigger factor in 2004.

10. Because simplistic thinking is easy to parrot
on the radio and around the water cooler.

Anybody can understand it, and it makes very nice slogans.

13. Republicans
are a funny bunch. There are Republicans ( Lincoln, TR, Ike ) and Republicans (Nixon, Reagan) and then there is this current batch from hell. They lied about their policies from the start, spouting centrist Compassionate Conservative BS, and they STILL had to rig the election. More frightening question is why the Supreme Court and the media AND the Dems let it happen, and will they let it happen again? Because this bunch aint gonna let a little old election stop their plans for global domination, not no-way, not no-how.

16. Why did the Republicans win?
A) They stole Florida.

B) Not enough of our people voted in 2000.

Want to win this year? Register the unregistered, and GET OUT THE VOTE!!! Increase turnout by even 5% and Kerry will win.
