I would think for pride reasons alone, the Clintons would raise their own way out, unless they simply no longer could. Are they really requesting help in digging out of the debt they incurred?

1. I thought it was just the supporters
suggesting Obama help out. I don't think Clnton ever asked for this. As far as I know, Clinton still thinks she can clinch this thing.

3. I would think it would seriously hurt your reputation and future fund raising ability.
I would have to think that Clintons would turn to bigwig corporate types before ever accepting money from the Obama team.

4. Clinton is going to win WV by 30 points...
announce she is the "comeback kid"... and fraudulently wheedle $10M to $12M from her supporters... only to fold up the tent and put up a token fight the rest of the way.

5. I understand that Obama would only help fundraise
to retire Clinton's debt. To actually use donations from Obama's supporters is said to be illegal. Thank heavens.

6. According to the Obama campaign it is illegal to pay off
election debts of other candidates. Don't know why people would keep bringing this up. Do you?

this was all a smear designed to get Obama supporters so pissed at him, they'd stop sending him money.

9. Well he could host fundraisers-not donations from supporters -it would still be
helping them pay off debts.

13. You are correct.
A fundraiser is worlds different than implying that Obama is going to give donations that were made to HIM, on to Hill. That is the problem with posts like this. It implies that Obama would take money that I gave him and give it to Hill and that will not happen. If Hill plays nice and stops with the delusional MI/FL crap maybe Obama could host a fundraiser to bail her out. I agree.

10. thanks -I worked several hours today at Obama's voter registration kick off.
It seems like even if you miss a couple of hours here you miss alot.

I don't understand why the GD-P threads with the most votes don't make it onto the greatest page. You can easily miss a lot of new info.

Thanks Sis! :hi:

12. Went very well-for once we had good weather for a campaign event.
Last Monday our Obama Oh HQ got back 2 full time staffers. This coming Monday we are getting 16 more staffers.

As an ER activist, I whole-heartedly support the campaign's desire to grow the Dem Party. I believe we need stealing proof margins in which to win w the current system. After working on the Kerry Campaign in '04, I will say I am glad to see so many new faces adding to our mix in helping to GOTV and to register new voters. This will not only benefit Obama in the fall, but will will help every race down ticket. He is utilizing our donations not only for his own goals, but to build the party for the future. This is the work of a true leader-imho.

I'm meeting and working with so many interesting dedicated people. It has been a very rewarding experience so far in working on this campaign. I hope other DUers will join me in getting involved. Democracy isn't a spectator's sport. It's up to us-even with an inspiring leader to get behind.

By contrast, in 2004 Ohio was seeing it's first Kerry staffer and was much less organized. I believe Obama will win Ohio in Nov!
