3. I don't give a flyin fuck if he was sworn in on a Superman comic book
or a copy of Hitchhiker's Guide to the Universe.

That sworn in on the bible bullshit was debunked several years ago in the Rep Ellison incident.

38. For godsakes. . .if the person is still so gullible
that they'll believe anything coming out of a con-artist, con-servative mouth, they deserve to vote for four more years of skyrocketing prices, jobs leaving the country, etc.

41. believe it or not he has a masters degree
just doesn't have any common since and imagine he only watches fox. He's from a rural area of Ohio...there seems to be areas of Ohio , Pa., West Virginia , Kentucky, that try to find excuses not to vote for him. I'll just leave it at that. I'm sure he wouldn't vote for him anyway, and also wouldn't vote Clinton if she were the nominee. I'm really wasting my time trying to convince this guy but will print out this info anyway to show him.

11. Roger That - Keith Ellison
You might recall Dennis Praeger went on and on about how Representative Ellison swore himself in on the Koran. (Ellison is a Muslim.) Somehow Dennis forgot the Constitution's prescription that "there will be no religious test for any office under the United States."

The Big Lie Theory at work once again, sounds like. Gotta love "the Mighty Wurlitzer" (i.e., Pubbie Propaganda Machine.)

20. Obama sworn in on his Bible
Edited on Sun May-11-08 01:36 AM by Catherina
Obama sworn in on his Bible

An anonymous e-mail says Barack Obama took the oath of office for the U.S. Senate on a Koran, the holy book of Islam. We thought it would be odd if that were true, since Obama is a Christian. In fact, it is wrong.

The e-mail also spells the book's name "Kuran," though usually it is spelled Koran or Quran.

Two press reports from Obama's swearing-in ceremony in January 2005 mention specifically that Obama took the oath of office by placing his hand on his own copy of the Bible. The Barack Obama campaign also confirmed that it was a Bible and that the book belonged to Obama. Vice President Dick Cheney, in his role as president of the Senate, administered the oath.

After being raised outside of any particular faith tradition, Obama became a Christian in his mid 20s and is a member of Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago. (Obama gave what are arguably his most extended remarks on his faith at the "Call to Renewal" religious conference in 2006; read the speech here.)

We suspect this false claim was inspired by the 2007 swearing-in of Rep. Keith Ellison, D-Minn., an American convert to Islam and the first Muslim elected to Congress. Ellison used a Koran that once belonged to Thomas Jefferson, borrowing the rare book from the Library of Congress.

It goes without saying that Ellison is not Obama. And with its intent to inflame, we find the e-mail's allegation not only false, but Pants-on-Fire wrong.

It happens all the time. Conservatives are so misinformed. They usually just give you some dumbfounded, confused look, and then say "well, I still don't like him" or some excuse like that.

26. I think some of us should
come up with a viral e-mail of our own filled with the truth, so that when we receive emails like this from people, we can provide a list of the true facts with links to the proof. Maybe we'll change a few minds at a time. Make it easy for them so they don't have to think for themselves. *sigh*

you know, all those black guys looking alike (add that sarcasm icon here).

He had his picture taken sweaing in on a Koran - Thomas Jefferson's!

Obama, however is of course, a Christian, not Muslim and chose to be sworn in using a Bible.

It was made to look like a bible to fool dumb x-tians into becoming his next meal.

Now, tell your relative to prove it was not a recipe book, inside the fake cover, on how to cook human beings.

If your relative ever supported Bushler, Jeebus will hate him if he does not prove it was not a cook book. :D
