The Clinton Campaign actually TAKES 440$ dollars from an 11 year old boy

The Clinton Campaign is in desperate need of money.

Bill Clinton met an 11 year old boy who wants Hillary to be President. The boy sold his bike, video games and other toys for 440$. He then presented the check to President Clinton during one of his campaign stops.

I know campaigns need money. And I'm sure Obama has probably received money from young kids too.

And I grant you it was probably an uncomfortable situation for the former President.

But am I the only one who finds it odd that a he APPARENTLY ACTUALLY TOOK THE MONEY FROM THE CHILD? Especially at this late stage?

Sadly, this in a way could be a symbol of what Hillary's bid for the Presidency now represents.

1. I think that's inspirational though because that little boy supports his candidate.
What would we say if that little boy did likewise for Barack Obama?

5. Obama wouldn't feel obligated to turn it down
since he's the presumptive nominee. The point of the thread was that they took the money, knowing that they were "taking candy from a baby".

8. I appreciate the inspiration...
But I would hope Obama would give the money back. Then again if the boy already sold his toys, you could in a way be insulting him if you turned his money down.

As I said in my original post, it's a very awkward situation, regardless of political preference. For some reason it just struck me as odd that the President would actually take the money.

Then again I wasn't there so I don't know the "atmosphere" leading to the check presentation.

11. I'm pretty sure it isn't !!!!!!
People under the age of 18 years are not legally responsible for financial contracts of any kind.

Look at the law in the state where the donation comes from!

This is a sham! IMO

Obama scores endorsement from Lt. Gov. Mongiardo
May 11, 2008 16:38 EDT

FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) -- Kentucky Lt. Gov. Dan Mongiardo endorsed Democratic presidential hopeful Barack Obama on Sunday, less than two weeks before Obama faces rival Hillary Clinton in the state Democratic presidential primary on May 20.

Mongiardo said Obama can unite the Democratic Party and build a coalition with independents and Republicans before the general election in November. Mongiardo, a surgeon, also praised Obama's health care plan, which would cut the medical cost for all families.

Gov. Steve Beshear, a superdelegate, has yet to announce which candidate he will back at the Democratic National Convention his summer.

10. Aw, now
Nothing wrong with that. Props to the kid. He got to meet a President and will probably get a nice phone call from a Senator. Plus, some autographed schwag.

13. Um, a gibberish name, a tiny number of posts, and a ridiculous non-story...
The Obama spammer brigade marches on. :eyes:

:puke:

Yeah, it's evil that people who are running for office take money from people who support them! Who do they think they are?!

:sarcasm:

:dunce:

There are third party candidates, you know. People don't have to settle for McCain or the Obama hate campaign.
