15. Obama giving one of his best speeches yet
He's on fire! He obviously got a lot of sleep last night or something. I joined in mid-speech. It focused on Iran and blasted McCain and Bush for their inept leadership with their foreign policy. Had a few lines in it that will be repeated by the MSM no doubt. Switching over to economic issues now. Very receptive crowd in Montana. Almost as much clapping as Obama speaking. :patriot:

26. ANOTHER one?
Seems as if every day he makes another of his 'best speeches yet.'

Funny, but when I watch or listen to him, the only reaction I have is, "What an amazing grasp of the obvious! When will he say something I haven't heard before?"

28. Few people say that about all of his speeches
Plus you are judging a speech that you haven't heard. That's the definition of prejudiced ignorance.

he has "reckless judgment" regarding Iran.

Says he doesn't have the "experience" for Diplomacy.

Obama Spokesperson is responding with clarity.

Just messing with you. By the way, I commend the rejecting and denouncing that you did for your mistake in your post a couple days ago. :patriot:

:hi:
Not having TV (even a bunny ear antennas) has really helped me and my boyfriend to be more productive. I can watch internet streams and YouTube at work. I'd LOVE to have a video Ipod to watch and listen to radio (Randi Rhodes and Miker Malloy) and political TV shows when I'm not at work. I lost my computers and TVs in a divorce and haven't really missed them! (I couldn't afford the cable and internet bills anyway!) We may get a computer and internet at home sometime this year.

29. I tried to go without a TV in college
but caved after 1 week, hehe. My dorm had cheap dial-up and it was a pain just to check the weather on the internet sometimes. I'm in my late 20s now and still can't believe life with just dial-up internet. It's better now because you can just use youtube or other internet sites to watch any interesting videos that you miss (e.g. Keith Olbermann).

At least you didn't lose the picture of that beautiful horse in your signature. He can steal the TV and computer but he can't still your joy. :patriot:

8. Accompanying him for this "economic" speech is none other than Joe 'Likudnik' Lieberbland.

Zell Lieberman

Posted by Joe Klein

Can there be any doubt that Joe Lieberman will be the Zell Miller of this year's Republican Convention? Here he is smearing Barack Obama re Hamas. He is entitled to his views about the Middle East, but for the past five years he has taken those Likudnik views a step beyond propriety--saying that those who disagree with him (i.e.--the Democratic Party, which nominated him for the Vice Presidency in 2000) are counseling "defeat" and "surrender." And now this.

I wish Blitzer had been a bit more dogged and asked: "What could you possibly mean by that, Senator Lieberman--and please be specific. Why do you think Hamas "favors" Obama over McCain? What are you implying here, Senator? And were you worried about Obama's Middle East policy positions when he came to campaign for you in Connecticut?

p.s.--Last night I saw a preview of the terrific HBO movie "Recount," which is about the battle over the Florida vote in the 2000 election. Lieberman makes a particularly unctuous cameo, in which he knifes the Gore campaign in the back. I gave Lieberman the benefit of the doubt against Ned Lamont in 2006, even though I disagreed with him about the war. I shouldn't have.

Joe-mentum: Actually, my esteemed colleague Michael Scherer got there first on the Zell Miller analogy more than a month ago.

I'd respect him more if he'd just join the GOP already. This 'Independent' thing is absurd.

14. one thing that McCain always does is attack
Obama's "souring rhetoric" or whatever. What the hell was his "things I will have accomplished at the end of my first term" speech from last week? McCain's economic and foreign "policy plans" are pure rhetoric.

20. Obama attacked that speech very effectively
I thought it was a brilliant move by McCain's camp at first. Allowed him to flip-flop from 100 years to 5 years, all based upon some hypothetical vision. Obama called him out on it though, so it backfired big time. Now McCain looks like a naive politician with soaring rhetoric, which is what he was trying to paint Obama as.

22. yeah, I saw it.
Obama was awesome. I just wish that the pundits would pick up on it a bit more. But, I think Obama's defense , which really looked like offense last week, spoke for itself! Lawrence O'Donnel was talking about that McCain speech last week and said "One criticism that people have to politicians making promises in speeches like that is 'yeah, in your dreams'. Well, the only reasoning that McCain gave to his speech afterwards was "yeah...but..but..this is in my dreams!" Haha.

McCain's camp has to be a little worried about this.
