I see no coincidence in the fact that Jim Johnson has stepped down after the VP list leak came out after Obama made clear that no talk out of his campaign about a VP would come until HE made the announcement. All yesterday people were harping over what this list meant for Hillary Clinton. It was a big distraction and appeared to make the Obama campaign seem like it was leaking all over the place.
I think the Johnson story was a convenient way to get rid of him. There is also no coincidence he added two people to the team last week. Maybe he knew he would have a problem with Jim Johnson and had his two people there just to confirm whether or not the leak was real and to keep an eye on Jim.
You could very well be correct in your assumption. I would say that it shows Obama is disciplined and runs a tight ship. We'll need someone like that to win the GE.
Yesterday there was a big leak and people kept focusing on it, making a big deal out of just the size of the list.
Today Jim Johnson is gone.
Now, the media is making it because of some stupid mortgage loan and ethics but there is no allegation of wrong doing. McCain has a butt load of corrupt people on his campaign.
17. Johnson doesn't leak. Obama camp made a decision that they can't defend Johnson and Barack/Michelle
at the same time. Period. In my view they should, but maybe they don't have the stamina to go through a multi-layered defense yet and still a bit exhausted from a too long primary.
People are going to have to really lean on the MSM this election. I can already see where this is going. Every time a good poll comes out for Obama, they will try to influence public opinion.
18. Ok. I really don't know much about him besides the fact that he did some vetting for other
candidates. The leak thing was my conclusion. If he was really let go because of this then I am really not cool with that. There was two days of media coverage and he was out. Graham is still on the McCain team and not a peep. Obama's camp needs to start speaking up about McCain's ties to these people. They can't expect the MSM to do it for them as they have done for McCain.
20. I actually share your concern. Obama camp needs to buck up and be prepared for the smearing of key

campaign figures. Reacting to the media smears by letting go of key figures who did nothing wrong because you aren't prepared to handle the multi-level smear campaigns is not what I want to see from Axelrod and co.
21. Exactly. I get the feeling the Repugs are trying to paint him as someone
who reacts to critisim and the media, someone who will throw anyone under the bus. He does not need that. He needs to stick more to his guns. He has stated recently that he would consider not rolling back the Bush tax cuts if necessary as well. The media ran with that Monday and Tuesday. Now this. They are slowly trying to paint him into a corner where they will try to force him to throw people and plans under the bus. They are trying to make him appear wishy washy and unreliable. He needs to fight back push back on some of these things and ATTACK THE MEDIA for their bias. Clinton did it. McCain did it. It fucking works. Ask the media why they are so focused on this when the top campaign people in McCain's camp are crooks. Then say his campaign will handle it's volunteers but that McCain needs to handle his paid staffers.
